play the young guys, guru is right and whats up with champ?
we are 1 to 2 years away from being a powerhouse. This last draft load up on offense then next year with our 10-11 picks load up on defense and sign a stud DT and we'll be set. And play the young guys like crowder and moss for crying out loud. let them learn on the job since they arent gonna learn nothing sitting on the flippin bench. Ekuban and Dingleberryburger just cant get to the qb so get them outta there. What is champ's deal? he doesnt cover the other teams best wr and its starting to piss me off. thats what he is here to do and if he refuses to move around the field, then get rid of him. it sounds to me like his ego is getting a little to big. Bowe was running hog wild around the secondary and champ was no where to be found.

Is that Champ's call?
I’m frustrated too, but I would think the call to put Champ on the best receiver vs. a particular side of the field is a coaching decision/philosophy. I’m not an x’s and o’s guy, but I thought the reason the Broncs play Champ on a particular side of the field is to take the QB’s most comfortable side away from him. Therefore, if the opponent is a right-handed QB you put Champ there all day and make him throw to his left.
Maybe they should change that philosophy, but I’m not sure it’s an ego thing. But I don’t know much.

Agree...
…Also, covering Gonzales isn’t a bad idea either.

I don't think you can blame Champ.
I don’t think he has an ego problem, although I’m sure he’s getting frustrated with the way the defense has played. Champ made the best defensive play of the day on sunday by forcing that fumble, which would have been a huge play had the Broncos pulled it out. He’s also playing on special teams, which a star with an ego probably wouldn’t do. He made another tackle on the long kick-off return which may have saved a TD. Not to mention he has the lone int for the defense through four games.
As far as couching and assignments that he’s given, that’s another matter.

I doubt that it's ego
but I agree, it is a waste of his talent not to play man coverage with Bailey on their #1 WR. I am guessing that we must play zone because the rest of the secondary can’t hold up in man coverage. It’s hard to imagine them being worse though. I also think with the way the line is rushing, there would be too much time for the WR to ditch their man.

Eck got the only sack on Sunday
and I believe that Engleberger also has a sack. I think Peterson is the only other defensive lineman to have a sack this year.
