Crystal Ball: Broncos Week One Box Score!
Well, here goes nothing. It's early Sunday morning and I'm already bored, so I felt like trying something a little silly just for fun. The following are my ridiculously specific and almost random predictions for the performance of our beloved Broncos this Monday Night at Oakland. This will almost certain look all sorts of foolish once the game comes to and end, but I don't mind it. I'd love to know what you all think of these predictions and I'd even encourage you to make some of your own. Have at it,

you have 13 of cutlers 18 receptions listed...
but i like it. jay’ll do better IMO, while we won’t exactly get 5 yards a carry in this game. i hope i’m proven wrong about our rushing tho.

Oops.
This is what happens when you adjust one thing (completions and passing yards) but not the other (receptions) and it’s something I’ll correct right now. Thanks!

At first I was puzzled by Champ’s no show in your stats, then I got it. Have to say, I think Champ will defense a pass or two, if not actually either getting an INT or getting scored on. I really think Lelie and Javon would like to prove a point, and if we have any success in run defense, it will eventually show as action in Champs personal space.
Nice Box score!
I'm tired of hearing about money, money, money, money, money. I just want to play the game, drink Pepsi, wear Reebok.

Here is what Warren Sapp thinks about Monday night
Here is a take from Sapp on Denver’s running game: "Shanahan’s going to get into that nasty little double tight end set that he likes, put it in motion, find out if you’re in man-to-man defense or Cover 3 because those are the basic coverages that you get, and then he’ll attack — run the ball." Sapp also said, "I know the system Oakland plays . . . (the Raiders) are in trouble."

Waren isn't a bad analyst.
From what little I’ve watched of him, he really seems on top of things. I do think the Broncos will be able to run the ball. I’d give them 130-170 rushing yards in the game. I think the RB’s will be more into the passing game than you have them. Selvin is deadly coming out of the backfield and I could see Pittman and Hillis being big players through the air, especially with Marshall out.
I could be wrong, but I believe a Raider is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era.

Impressive
That seems like truly thoughtful and insightful analysis. I look forward to seeing how he does with teams he hasn’t played for…

Warren has been reading my stuff.
Here I wrote about reading man defense using man in motions (in this case, that one would get from a 2 TE system).
On a serious note though, Warren is right. I expect us to do exactly that. I think oakland has a disadvantage trying to read Denver, in part because of our new coordinator, and in part because the oakland scheme (and personnel) don’t allow as much felxibility for probing a defense with motions.

another note from Rocky Mountain News...
Barring last-minute personnel moves, the Raiders will be playing with only seven defensive linemen on the roster — including three defensive tackles. Trust me, the Broncos’ coaching staff has taken notice of those numbers, and will bang at the Raiders with the run often in hopes of wearing down those seven linemen. The list of seven linemen includes defensive end Kalimba Edwards, who been listed on Oakland’s injury report all week.
