WOW!!!!!
What a night last night was. I'm so pumped, I can't beleive it. I just have to point out one thing I noticed that may have been overshadowed a bit by Royal w/Cheese's debut. I know we all expected Cutler to have a breakout year as far as his play but one thing I noticed was his poise and demeanor throughout the game. We all knew Cutler was going to be special and I fully expected the kind of play he displayed last night. However, his leadership was extremely impressive all game long. We saw his willingness to take a leadership role in the offseason when he got after Marshall, but the leadership he displayed last night was awesome. His quiet confidence wasn't so quiet when you take his body language into account. What I saw last night was a man with confidence oozing from every pore. Not a cocky or arrogant confidence, but a determined, whatever it takes to win confidence. You could see it in his face as well as his body. I haven't seen that since (dare I say it?) Elway. This is no longer a rising young star, Cutler is a young field general with the poise and intense competitiveness of a seasoned veteran. From his quiet confidence to his jumping on Nate Jackson when he dropped a pass that hit him right in the hands last night, I was taken aback by Cutler's leadership throughout the game. Like I said earlier, I knew he was going to be good this year, but I have a sense that we could be about to witness greatness. Not since Elway have I seen this kind of competitiveness and leadership from the QB position in Denver. Even though his play was outstanding and Royal was totally dominant, I saw something else last night, I saw the intangibles that make the difference between very good and absolute greatness. The kind of intangibles that enable a man to put a team on his back and take them wherever he desires, intangibles that enable a man to will his team to victory under any circumstances. With the talent around him, Cutler will wildly exceed all of our expectations and then some. There were a lot of great things about last nights game, but this stood out to me the most. With all that being said, I don't think it is too far out of the question to say that we've at least got to be considered a dark horse for the Super Bowl, this year. LOL Zappa and Mike Clark, I'm joining you fellas in lala land, and it is a sweet place to be. You guys might not be so nuts afterall.

I've been trying to play down the lala land stuff, but dang...
41-14. Monday Night Football. AT the Oakland Raiders(we lost 34-20 there last year). Opening Day. All the hype. All the pressure. This team is going to score a lot of points….next week will be a true test imo. If we put up a fortyberger on San Diego then we are surely the real deal. I’ll settle for a 24-21 W myself…We’d be two games up on the Chargers just two weeks into the season…that would be a huge confidence boost.

I'll take a 40-wich with some extra PAT's.
Michael Fabiano really knows nothing about football outside of regression analysis and stat extrapolation. If it doesn’t have to do with fantasy football, his opinion is worthless.

I knew you had left the land...
but I still love you Zappa.
Now for some real fun news—My oldest daughter was recently transfered to Denver—and now has a fiance’ and I got to meet him at my niece’s wedding this weekend (in Utah) and really like him.
They are going to wait until sometime around this time next year so they have two weeks vacation for the honeymoon.
It doesn’t get any better than this—a weekend when a great young man (reg nurse—working for PA) really loves your daughter—and Denver crushes, splatters, splots, obliterates, makes foolish fools of the hated faiders.
la-la-land-and-now-in-the-real-season is doing just fine.
p.s.
This is the last wedding I have to pay for—this is also great news.

Major Ommission McBronco!!
I am sure your daughter’s fiance’ is a nice guy and all of that, but you did not identify him as a Bronco Fan!. That was the first thing my prospective father-in-law asked forty years ago. He came right out and asked “Are you a Bronco fan?”

My daughter is--she couldn't help it--he is learning the righteousness of Broncoism
and I think he is already there—my daughter is pretty dissarming when it comes to absolutes.

Think twice mike
near as I can tell we are still in the pre-season…. SD might be another story, but don’t you want to give these Broncos the benefit of the doubt?

credit FO too
the front office deserves a lot of credit as well for recognizing cutler’s ability/fit in denver and being so sure of it that they moved up to get him even though other teams liked party boys Young and Leinart better

You could sense...
…a greater confidence and swagger if you will surrounding Cutler all offseason and last night it came to light in the regular season

Don't know about swagger
Jay has something else. It’s not swagger. Can’t put my finger on it.

Zen like calm?
Except for jumping Jackson (which was kind of funny), he exudes calm.

I like the zen calm
A zen zone. He just sees it. He sees the field better than anyone I’ve watched, except maybe Joe Montana. There’s nothing else in his world right then. It’s really awesome. Broncos need to start thinking about his next contract.

its great
To see a leader behind center again. I never realized how much the Broncos missed and needed that. I was impressed when he was yelling at N. Jackson after he dropped that pass. The fire JC had reminded me of the fire ol #7 always had. Its gonna be great watching this team play. They are getting some love nationally. Michael Silver has been a Cutler supporter from the start and has Denver ranked #9. Now Jay needs to have another great game Sunday as Denver beats up the pansies from SD. I cant wait

It's funny
the comments at the DP and FoxSports Broncos site seem to be devoid of the fader nation.
It’s amazing what a whooping will do to them.

I know it's been mentioned a couple of times...
…but how about his voodoo death gaze at Nate Jackson when he dropped that ball. I thouth Jackson was about to be incinerated by his Cutler’s evil eye stare! I loved it!

I could be wrong, but I believe a Raider is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era.
