Tough, tought love
Hmm...looks like ESPN isn't too terribly impressed with the Denver win.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking?season=2008&week=2
Granted, early-season rankings are questionable at best, and they have absolutely zero bearing on the teams anyway. But you'd think they would have rated a little better than the Browns or the Seahawks until evidence proved otherwise. I'm guessing it was a lack of actually watching the late game on Monday. I'm just left wondering what else the Broncos would have had to do to move higher up the board.
Hopefully, beating the THIRD-RANKED Chargers will do the trick. ;-)

Good
I want the rest of the nation to give us no respect, then when we stomp teams into the ground they can look like fools. Again, east coast bias is at play, I have a hard time figuring out what they see in Cleveland or Seattle, Cleveland has looked horrible in preseason and Seattle has no weapons and an over-rated defense. Oh well, bring on San Diego.

I saw that too
Are they serious with the Chargers #3? They got beat by the Panthers, who are rated 12? I get that the Broncos only beat the lowly raiders, but ranking us lower than Tavaris and the Vikings, not to mention several other mis-rankings.
ESPN’s ‘analysis’ is always good for a laugh
"It's the first time that I've probably ever seen a 260 pound back run into a free safety and go flat on his back, I mean it was exciting." ~John Elway
Seems like they are taking a more wait and see approach to moving anyone to much
-Chuck Norris recently had the idea to sell his urine as a canned beverage. We know this beverage as Red Bull.
Except they moved the Falcons
up seven places after beating lowly Detroit, and the Eagles jumped six places after beating the hapless Rams, even though a 12th ranked team should be expected to beat up on a 28th ranked one. Clearly, the east coast bias is alive and well.

Guys, we beat oakland.
I think the Panthers have more to complain about, they beat a decent team. I’m pumped about the win, and I think we’re back to Broncos football, but I want to see us tested against a good team. If we can beat the Chargers this week, we’ll be moving on up.

We didn't beat Oakland . . .
we beat them up! We stopped the pass rush of Burgess. We toasted the coverage of Hall and Asomugha. We stopped Fargus and McFadden, until garbage time in the fourth quarter, when we were fully expecting passes. We went into the Black Hole and hung 40 points on an AFCW team in their house for the first time since 1973, and the first time, away, to any team since 1985.
No, I’m not about to downplay the achievement of the Broncos this last Monday night. I will be willing to bet no team blows the Raiders out so badly again, in Oakland. It took a good team, not to beat them, but to own them as the Broncos did.
I forget now which of the Broncos said they can play with any team in the league this year. But they have shown, through the games in preseason and this first regular season game, that he was not kidding.

Agreed.
Last night we played a bad team, and good teams are supposed to destroy bad teams. We did not play down to their level of competition, and that is always my biggest worry with this team. People were saying going into the game that both of those teams were about the same level. Last night that we proved that we are probably two full tiers ahead of Oakland, and we showed off our newfound poise and confidence. I’m thinking it was a great start to what will be a great year.
Dare I say it: 12-4 baby!!!!! Lalalalalalalalala
I could be wrong, but I believe a Raider is an old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era.
Don't rag on Oakland too bad
This is a team that like it or not has tremendous depth and talent at RB, their O-line is good, and they do have a good back 7 on the defensive side of the ball, they aren’t a top team, but they aren’t garbage. They are probably a 4 to 6 win team with some talent, and the fact that we went into Oakland, played like we did should not be diminshed. And remember this is a rivalery game, and to be able to go into someone else’s building, on Monday night, and completely dominate them speaks volumes on how much better Denver is from 2008.
Remember last year we barely got a win at Buffalo opening weekend, and really should of lost the game. Yes, I want to see them do it to San Diego, but let’s also enjoy this win at least for today.

I am offended that the Seahawks are ahead of us with that the horrible performance
they had against the Bills

I agree
But I think the Bills are a lot better than people give them credit for and on the flip side, Seattle is over-rated.

seahawks suck
yeah, the seahawks one is the most infuriating. I mean, their healthy WRs are the worst in the league, the QB is aging and infirm, their backfield is uninspiring and they just got pummeled by a team that while decent is not one of the league’s best.
They might win their division, but that doesn’t mean they are better.
Our friend Jeremy Green...
had the Broncos 23rd, which was our lowest ranking. He’s been saying we have a bad team, so I’m sure he’s hoping to be right. Matt Mosley and Kevin Seifert both had us 13th, which was the high mark. See here

If we beat
their number 3 and 4 ranked teams in the next two weeks, we’ll get a little love, I’m sure. Not that we care. We’ve got all the Bronco love we need here on MHR, who needs the MSM?
