Jake Long replace Jason Peter in Pro Bowl, Clady Snubbed again
This is an absolute joke. Ryan Clady had a much, much better year than Jake Long.

Nothing against Long,
because I think he’s a solid pro who will play well in this league for years to come, but give me a break. Clady’s performance this season was stellar. Big time snub….

Agree!
Long probably had a better year than Peters, but in no way better than Clady.
I guess we can look forward to 78 playing with a chip on his shoulder in ’09!

How in the HELL................
Did they figure that? Clady was 10 times better this year. I feel sorry for the D-lineman he plays against next year. He was 2nd team all-pro and can’t even get in as an alternate in the PRO-BOWL? The Pro-Bowl is the biggest joke in all of the NFL in my opinion. Except mebbe the HOF. LMAO
The player who thinks he can and the player who knows he can are two different players, which one are you???

PS,we should start calling it the NO-BOWL.

We already knew that he wasn't one of the 3 alternates
which doesn’t make it anymore right

Great Question...
It was actually known when the teams were released that Clady was not chosen as an alternate. The fact that Long is the guy that goes instead is just a slap in the face….

Clady Will Never Overcome His Biggest Flaw
What did you all expect? Clady plays in a square state, deep in the American Wilderness. He might as well have played on Mars at Boise State. Worse, he wasn’t drafted by the world’s greatest media creation called Bill Parcells (for an interesting excercise that exposes the Parcell’s myth, look at every draft Parcells has run, and you won’t see anything even remotely resembling Denver’s 2005 and 2008 drafts. In fact, outside Ware, most of his guys have been underachieving busts, and most of his drafts have been far less than ordinary ).

Correction
I meant 2006 and 2008 drafts.

This sucks, yet I am not surprised.
We make the playoffs, this is a different story.

theres always next year? what am i saying, this snub is crap.
totally agree but the problem is that this voting was from ages ago when they had the initial voting. it only makes sense though since long was drafted earlier.

I agree that this snub is beyond CRAP.
There is no excuse for it and Clady will get his turn. I would love to see Cutler, Marshall, and Wiegmann promote him somehow during their time there.

Clady will get his turn no doubt about that. I would love to see Cutler, Marshall, and Wiegmann promote Clady a little bit while they are in Hawaii.

This is for the poo bowl.
They get their own montage. Not only is Clady 5 times the LT Long is, he had a 50 times better season and would kick the ass of any other (Pro Bowl or not) tackle in the league or any other dolphin troll cocksucker who comes over here and gloats. And they have. And Ryan Clady will kick their ass. I am BEYOND pissed about this. I’m SUPER PISSED. ABNORMALLY PISSED. I’m so pissed mother nature will be like “Sloooow doooowwwn” and I’ll be like “F YOU” and kick her in the face with my PISSED OFF ENERGY LEGS.

papi...
you’re a funny, funny dude.
From there, I'd like to say that the wheels came off, but that wouldn't feel like an accurate description. The wheels didn't just magically come off, the Raiders all got out of the car, shot the wheels off the own car, busted out the taillights, smashed the windshield and poured Splenda in the gas tank. Then they all piled back inside and started screaming, "CAR WON'T MOVE, ME SAD NOW!" - MJD Yahoo Sports

Yeah, but . . .
First off, just to pile on or reinforce the posts from PO and weazel, make the playoffs, don’t be the first team ever to blow a three game division lead, and this probably doesn’t happen. Second, the Pro Bowl is a popularity contest and will always be so unless the player vote is given more weight – and even then things can be skewed. And last, you have to be just that much better to overcome the east coast media bias if you’re playing in Denver. There’s east coast media bias because that’s where the population is and the MSM at least is a business – don’t ever forget it. Still sucks though!

Problem is, the Pro Bowl voting ended after week 13.
The EPIC FAIL that was the end of the Broncos season didn’t happen until after the voting was over. At that point in time, everybody except a few Chargers desperately-hopefuls had already written the Broncos into the playoff picture.
As far as the bias goes, the problem is that the media prefers to cover people whose names are already familiar. Because Jake Long went early in the draft, he got all kinds of pre-draft coverage and draft day hype; therefore, the media knew that his name was out there already. So when the season started, it was easier for them to generate ratings by talking about Long as one of the rookies-to-watch because they knew the familiarity was in place. With Clady, they would have had to generate the knowledge first, then cover.
It’s a simple business decision if your only goal is to hold ratings up and squeeze out every dollar. Obviously, the travesty is that they unfairly cover names rather than performance and it has a decided effect on things like Pro Bowl voting.

Isnt clady not making the pro bowl good?
if i remember correctly making the pro bowl was an incentive on his contract and something about an extra year(voidable year) was in there as well
Its not that i dont want clady to be good or get rewarded, but it seems like we might have saved some money
and maybe not going will motivate him more?

Now I am really going to go for a bike ride instead of watching this game. Horrible.
