Broncos Greats....By The Numbers - An Introduction

I'll say it, right off the bat, this isn't what you think.  Well, acually, it is what you think.  A new series here on MileHighReport that will break down the best Broncos of all time, with a twist. I started this last summer but ran out of time.  Now, with months until the season gets underway again I figured let's restart the series and take it to it's completion.  So, for those that remember the series, there will be a little re-hash.  For those of you that are new to the site, enjoy!

Here's what is going to happen.  I am going to break down the Greatest Broncos to ever wear a certain number.  Starting with #0(yep, someone wore #0 for the Broncos) and going all the way to #99 I'll give you who I think was the best player to ever wear a certain number.  A couple of gimmies, of course, will be the guys that have had their numbers retired.  Other easy ones will be numbers that were only worn by one player.  In that case, consider this a history lesson.

Of course, there is going to be a debate and I will include a poll, where applicable, to figure out if you agree with me or think I am completely crazy.

We'll get started later today and take it all the way to #99!

I agree

It’s a good history lesson plus some good debate about some of the other ones.

There is no 'Ctrl' button on Chuck Norris's computer. Chuck Norris is always in control.
Chuck Norris destoryed the periodic table because he only recognizes the element of surprise.

You should link the previous posts you did to this post John.

Didn’t you leave off at like #9 or something?

This is my GAP, there are many like it but this one is mine. Without my GAP I am useless, without me, they will run through my GAP. I will protect my GAP and have my brothers back on his. I will not be moved from my GAP, I am a crazed dog that patrols this area and will defeat all who entire it. I own this GAP, it is mine. I bought it with blood and sweat. I will not be pushed. I will not be moved. This Sunday I will make a stand and a statement.

This was a fun series. Glad you're bringing it back.

It is a nice history lesson and brings up debates and discussions about Broncos. I really like hearing some of the members talk about players I never saw play.

I would vote Steve Atwater with DWill as an honorable mention.

DWill never got the chance to challenge Atwater for greatest 27 of all-time, but I think if he had lived he might have given Atwater a run for his money there.

My sentiments exactly.

I loved watching Atwater play. Man could he ever hit and in SB XXXII he knocked out 3 players including himself.

I had to search through Johnny's posts until the 663rd one ago...

http://www.milehighreport.com/2008/7/10/569209/the-greatest-broncos-of-al

We left off at #9 like I said. :P

Johnny….you post ALOT my friend. 663 posts since last July….wow.

PS Please ask SB Nation to create a search parameter for TITLE’s only….you’d be surprises how many front page posts have the key words “Broncos”, Greatest", “By The Numbers”, ect…. lol Anyways…

BFSISD, I just realized that you were referring to David “I suck butt” Treadwill when you said “favorite kicker”. I thought you meant Jason Elam, which is why I set out to confirm where we left off. lmao I just wasted all my time trying to find out where we left off. heheheh Happy Friday!

Also, check out the poll on that story as well...

MHR readers were quite prophetic there….
