Clady named AP Second-Team All-Pro

It's just been announced that Ryan Clady was named to the AP's All-Pro team as a second-team tackle.

Clady was firmly third in the voting - first-teamer Jordan Gross received 34 votes, while Michael Roos got 32.

Clady garnered 14 votes and outdistanced the rest of the field in doing so. Behind Clady, several players tied with 3 votes each. Congrats to Ryan!

While he might have been screwed in terms of the Pro Bowl, at least Clady's inclusion on the All Pro Team shows the respect he is garnering around the league -- TSG

A Well Deserved Honor

Clady may turn out to be the best draft pick Shanny ever made. If not the best, maybe top 5. Great left tackles are few and far between. Finding someone able to pick up the position as a rookie is a testament to his talent and smarts (Wonderlict scores be damned) as well as some darn fine coaching.

Absolutely...

and in regard to Guru’s comment, All-Pro is certainly more legit than the Pro Bowl. The Pro Bowl is a mere popularity contest akin to the MLB All-Star Game. The fact that Champ Bailey had a shot at making this year’s team, and that Brett Favre actually did so shows how ludicrous the system is. It’s not nearly as often that you see blatantly undeserving All-Pros.

Ryan Harris

was Peter King’s choice as All-pro Right Tackle. See: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/peter_king/01/06/all-pro-team/index.html

Clady was King’s second team all-pro Left Tackle, behind Michael Roos (same as on the official AP team).
