Are the 'Football Gods' on the Broncos side?
With the way the off-season went, all the negativity shot towards the Broncos from all over, some wondered if the team would be able to recover. After a so-called 'miracle' finish Week 1 against Cincinnati there was talk that the 'Football Gods' were on the Broncos side, partially because of all the vitriol displayed during the spring and summer.
That karma has continued all season - culminating with a 20-17 win over the Patriots yesterday - and this photo, taken from the TV image of Matt Prater's game-winning field goal in OT. Judge for yourself!
Is that a Bronco in the clouds, helping the Broncos from far above? Whatever it is, know this, the Broncos are 5-0!

we’ve definitely had some great football karma on our side
how does the saying go… “if God’s not a Broncos fan, then why are the sunsets orange?”
by lolcopter on Oct 12, 2009 1:05 PM MDT reply actions 0 recs
I love that saying.
As for the clouds…it’s always nice to have a little help.
No, they earned this record. It is kinda funny how the cloud does look like a Bronco though.

we always knew God
was a Bronco’s fan. Colorado is God’s country. The sunsets are orange and blue. And I don’t think God was wanting to see the Broncos embarrassed any more than they had to be in those uniforms.

Funny
I’m not sure God cares about football, but He does care about people. And probably doesn’t like the throw back uniforms either.
Talk is for Losers and Fools.

Yeah if God were to give a damn
He wouldn’t be biased towards one team or another.

God is probably tired of my incessant complaining when they lose.... ;-)
He is saying, “Here, just shut up already!”
It feels taboo to make light of what God may or may not think…I’d better just stop right here.
For those of you who have other beliefs, I respect them and I was only sharing my own in the greatest of generalities and this in no way is an attempt to convert anyone. :P

Naw, I was more worried about seeing the front page of the DP read:
“MHR Staff Writer Proclaims Divine Intervention Is Reason Broncos Being 5-0”
I guess I should have been more specific. :)

No such thing as football Gods. But comparable or superior talent and preparation have been in our favor in weeks 1 thru 5.
The better football team has won all five Bronco games this season.
Love the Broncos. Mike Nolan is a genius.

Looks more like a TRex to me John!
Or would that be a DRex with determination? A long used quote from a baseball manager: It Aint Over Until Its Over.
I am not sure what the final win/lost total is going to bes year, but Denver has a Football Coach and for the first time since I can remember, It Aint Over Until Its Over.

Of course
God is a Broncos fan. Why do you think the sunsets are orange and blue?
Actually, I think the issue is planning, preparation and practice, but it’s still fun to look at the sunsets and smile …

Reminds me of the stories my family used to tell me about the '77 team.
They said that by the time they made it to the super bowl people were carrying around signs saying that God loves the Broncos. I wouldn’t know though, as that was 4 years ahead of my time and many years ahead of my football awareness.

pareidolia
I’m primarily interested in the MSM’s explanations for why they were wrong. The explanations should be entertaining. We don’t need to resort to fantastic explanations involving divine intervention to believe that there are bad journalists.
Bigger rationalizations (and they can’t get bigger than the cosmic scale) point to an irrational escalation psycho-dynamic being present.

My wife thought I was crazy
When they showed the repay of the field goal from the goalpost camera I saw the "cloud" horse and rewound it to show my wife. She said I was crazy and had a good imagination. I’m glad I’m not the only one!

I saw it to!
I wanted to rewind and watch it again, but I was watching with a Patriots fan friend who was already being very patient with my screaming and jumping around. I didn’t want to push it.
But I saw the cloud horse too!

Why Not?
Again, if God cares about football, He loves the Broncos because the team is a pattern of goodness for mankind to follow both on and off the field. Of course, I don’t think God follows football on a regular basis. There’s a lot of people to keep track of in the world after all.

God's Hand
There are a lot of teams that have surely put in the work and preparation in the “right” way to deserve victory…..yet, we have victories. View it how you want, but I enjoy believing that this team is a part of His plans. Not because he cares about football, but rather seeks deeper realtionship with those playing, coaching, watching, blogging, etc. He could seek that relationship through defeat as well as victories, so I will enjoy our current success as a sign of His benevolence to all those that wear “orange & blue”……hence, why wouldn’t there be Broncos flying high of MH stadium.

Rememeber the movie
We Were Soldiers with Mel Gibson? “Lord, please don’t listen to the heathen prayers of the enemy..” Lets not forget that Chargers fans pray too. I’m not worried though, God never intervenes until the playoffs.

Whether you believe in the spiritual side of things makes no difference.
The happenings with the Denver Broncos are for the ‘egotistic’ msm pundits who think they know everything. Proved wrong one more time. How sweet is that?
