Remember
Back in the offseason and there were a lot of questions about Champ Bailey still being elite on here and on other sites. Well Champ has proven what he can when there is a pass rush and a guy like B-Dawk who has his back.
In the league right now I think there are only two cornerbacks who are absolutely the cream of the crop. Champ and Nnamdi Asomougha. I can’t stand the Raiders but I admit I like the way Nnamdi plays and they way he carries himself.
Darrelle Revis of the Jets is an up and comer but he has to prove it long term and Cortland Finnegan of the Titans can be pretty good when healthy. But Champ and Nnamdi shut it down.

Guilty as charged...
Though me feelings were more health related, and selling high. I was wrong and have no problem admitting it! Crow is best served 5-0!

Also eating crow on that poll about trading BMarsh to the Jets for that LB(whats his name? lol)

All of us can be guilty of making a misjudgement
But you never said B-marsh wasn’t talented or that he was “garbage” ala Schlereth and his front 7 evaluation.
Also I think some of the trade Champ statements were based on the feeling we’d be rebuilding over the next few years. McDaniels showing that you can win now and rebuild.

Great point
There’s no shame in offering a reasoned opinion based on observation and analysis – and still ending up wrong.
But the ones who get me are those who seem to think a press pass is a sign of Divinity, meaning that you are now infallible and can say whatever you want as long as you’re amusing yourself.
Its a free country but I’d expect baseless, knee jerk BS out of the average fan. As a member of the press you have an obligation to ensure there’s reason behind your opinion because you owe it to your audience.
People should have enough pride to do their job well AND to admit when they’ve learned something through error.

I hate that Bob Slowik almost ruined Champ's career....hate it!

'Bob Slowik'
I’m sorry but I am not sure to whom you’re referring. Its like I should know the name but I keep drawing a big, irrelevant blank.

Slowik....
I think he was a general in the second world war for Russia. I don’t know, but I think that’s who that is….
John Clayton is the head Dean at Fail University (known as F.U. in short)
Huh?
I don’t know who you are talking about…wasn’t our last DC Coyer???

Re: Bailey
I read the link…why is Champ getting credit for shutting down Roy Williams and Randy Moss? Did he shadow both of them? I don’t recall seeing that….I don’t even recall seeing him on either guy a majority of the time!
Verbose in style, dispersion of thought, procrastination in life.
No he didn't...
Champ stayed on his side and Goody was on Moss much of the game – same with Roy.

Funny how MSM automatically assumes Champ did most of the work...

They also asked Champ if Dawkins was the reason the D was so improved…. considering it was basically the same players from last years defense. I am a little surprised that Champ didn’t correct them.
I'm tired of hearing about money, money, money, money, money. I just want to play the game, drink Pepsi, wear Reebok.
Shaquille O'Neal
He didn't
And it blows my mind that we don’t have him adjust. I’d really like to know why the DC doesn’t put Champ on the best WR in man-on-man situations.

Because
Goodman is just as good.
IT is, and it is impossible for IT not to be.

That's part of it...
but a more important reason is that it’s just to difficult to disguise coverages if one of your guys has to shadow one of there’s on every play. The better teams are impossible to defend if you can’t disguise your coverages.

Thanks for that, Guru..
….“confidence out this roof”…..That’s a hilarious quote and I loved the interview – it’s great to hear Bailey’s view on all of this, as he is IMHO, the best most key of ALL of the holdovers. He is also a guy you can count on to be candid and honest about his views.

You know the cool thing?
Teams are throwing at Champ and he’s proving that he hasn’t lost anything, but even bigger than that, teams are really not throwing at or targeting Goodman and that speaks volumes about where his game is right now. Some of this may be that right-handed offenses prefer to throw to the right, but I’m thinking Goodman may be our “other shut-down corner.”
It's "just" football
And that just makes me tingly
Look at our secondary. Where do you throw? We’ll give you a few yards but you’ll pay for it – and those 20+ yard strikes are going to be rare.
And since we now can mount an effective pass rush, its not a fun thing to have to throw the ball against Denver.

Tom Friend of ESPN
On Jim Rome is Burning: The Broncos aren’t good. They’re lucky. And they’ll lose the next 3 games.
I believe that’s called doubling down.
The Broncos have been "losing their next three games" for the last two weeks!
what a ding dong!

Who is Tom Friend...
and why should we care?
I would just reply, don’t you have to be good to be lucky?
I think we’re going to beat SD this week and very possibly Pittsburgh after the bye. I’m sure that McD will come up with a really good game plan for Pitt.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
Dawkins
is the man. I felt like he totally has this whole group hungry. He’s like in 75% of all tackles and pass break ups. Let’s take it to these Chargers. I’m sick of the fans over here. Remember: The Chargers almost lost to the pathetic Raiders..
Go Broncos!!!

I too was concerned that Champ was getting long in the tooth.
But I am totally glad that he has put those concerns to rest. Champ Bailey is a Class Act, and I love that he is a Bronco.
