B Marsh- New Contract?
According to Steve Wyche on NFL.com, Brandon Marshall might see a new contract coming soon. Wyche reports that at the NFL Fall League Meeting on Tuesday that Broncos' owner Pat Bowlen had said, "Brandon understands that he's got a year left on his present deal, but if he keeps playing the way he is, he's going to get a very significant raise- a much better contract. That's the way it goes, and Brandon has accepted that."
Good news or bad news?
I personally believe that it's very good news. Kyle Orton has played great this year, and it's hard to say that Brandon hasn't contributed in a big part of his success. He's bought into McDaniel's system and his style of coaching, and things look like they couldn't get better. From what I've seen in his press conferences and interviews, especially the one with Michael Irvin, it looks like Marshall has matured a lot. He has one of the greatest role models and mentors the game has ever seen in Rod Smith. Imagine if some of Smith's leadership qualities rubbed off on him! WOW! We'd have one hell of a player. I think Marshall has learned his lesson and is ready to move on from the past. Give him the money
P.S. - I hate to leave on a very sour note, but the only way I don't see Marshall working out is once the Broncos see a little adversity. Maybe a first loss? Maybe only having a catch or two in a game? I think it will be very interesting to see how Marshall reacts to controversial times.
Any thoughts?

I'm not sure.
Don’t get me wrong – the guy can play. But as many of us noted a while back, his behavior looks oddly familiar to those of us that have a relationship with his personality type. As an example, he falls in love and has a fine relationship for a while. Next thing you know, they’re fighting in the streets and breaking car windows. Then everything is fine again. As he says, he’s an emotional player. That works for you, I think, when you’re on the good side of the emotional fine line. That’s where he is now.
But he seems to have a cyclic nature to him, and I’m afraid it is only a matter of time before he swings over to the down side of the emotional fine line. I’m not saying here that the behavior we have seen before will resurface, but I am indeed saying that he’s up now but he’ll be down sooner or later. It might be because of football, money, girls, or ‘just because’. It might not be for a while.
I’m not a shrink. My experience with this is more hands-on than anything else. Suffice it to say that I have worked with and known many cut from Brandon’s cloth, and I know that change is difficult. When we say we were wrong and that we’ll never act that way again, we believe it. But when a trigger comes along, many times we go back to what feels natural.
That said, I’m truly rooting for him. Yes, it’s difficult, but people can and do change. They do it with the help of people like Rod Smith. As long as Rod is in his ear, I’m happy. In fact, I wish he would ask Rod to be his agent or something like that.
But if I were Pat Bowlen, I’d make sure to have him sign a pre-nup before I sign the check.
Wherever you go, there you are.

I saw that quote
What I took from it is Bowlen saying “He is in the last year of his rookie contract; If he plays like this all year he’ll be in for a pay raise and he knows it.”
So, we’ll see how things look at the end of the year. If he keeps his head down and does his job, pay the man. But if he gets into any more trouble, or pouts for the cameras after a loss…well…
Who’d have thunk it? Just show up, play lights out like everyone knows you can and you will get paid. Good things in the NFL come to players who produce.
Amazing.
Don't argue with fools. It's how they reproduce.

I see him getting a new contract during our bye week
look at how much our offense has improved since he was put into the starting line up. He opens up so many options for us.

Conflicted
I think you have to wait until the end of the season, even partly through the offseason. Most of his problems have come off the field during the break, and if someone wants to break the bank for him, I say let them. When motivated, healthy, and happy, he’s in the league of Fitzgerald, and Andre Johnson. Is it worth sinking a $15-20m signing bonus into a guy that could slip on a McDonald’s wrapper at any time?
I’m not so sure…

At some point yes
But not yet…I think it should happen before the end of the season if he keeps producing and playing well. 2 great games just doesn’t do it though for the big history of issues he’s had.
