Denver Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno has been named Diet Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week, the National Football League announced on Friday.

While making his first NFL start, Moreno totaled 124 yards from scrimmage (88 rushing, 36 receiving) to help the Broncos to a 20-17 overtime win against the Patriots on Sunday. His 124 yards from scrimmage ranked eighth in the NFL for the week.

Moreno, who averaged 4.2 yards on 21 carries, posted four runs of at least 10 yards that tied for the second most in the league for the week. Among his four receptions was a 27-yard grab on Denver's game-tying 98-yard touchdown drive in the fourth quarter that forced overtime.

Moreno was selected from among five finalists through fan votes on NFL.com/rookies. The other finalists were wide receivers Austin Collie of the Indianapolis Colts, Jeremy Maclin of the Philadelphia Eagles and Hakeem Nicks of the New York Giants along with quarterback Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January. The winner will be announced at a press conference at Super Bowl XLIV in South Florida.

This is Pepsi's eighth year as the official soft drink sponsor of the NFL and the fifth year that Pepsi will present the NFL Rookie of the Week and NFL Rookie of the Year awards.

Sweet...

and what’s even better is that he will be able to pick up his Rookie of the Year award while he’s there with the team for the Super Bowl!

Man, I love KnowMo

but how the heck did he beat out Maclin? I voted for Knowshon too. We must have a pretty great fan base!

Knoshon Deserves It

I too voted for him. I thought Maclin and Sanchez had better shots at the award.

Wow

DIdn’t see that coming. If he keeps this up, he might win OROY. When was the last time a Bronco did that? Did Portis?

The best thing about Knowshon..

His middle name is Rockwell. I am dead serious.

Chew on that.

WOO!!

Did not forget to vote this week, well done my man, well done.

And to think I had to defend drafting this kid most Broncos fans (those that do not frequent this site anyway) that I know!

The first move of the draft

was the final touch on our team. Right now, it’s looking like a masterpiece.

So far, so good. Let’s remember how early it is still. We gotta have this game…

Way to go NoMo...

Big game this week, VERY important…I’m confident the guys will be ready to though

Go Broncos…13-3 Baby!!!

More Intense Game?

As big of a role as Knowshon played this week…I think this might of come down to the quality of the game.

Collie posted 100 yards and 2 TDs….and Maclin 100+ and 2 TDs….both in routs.

I will not be one to complain, keep them coming in.

Maclin was robbed

But that’s what Philly gets for underutilizing and having most of the country forget about him.

I’ll enjoy these meaningless weekly awards while they last, it’s good that one of our guys is getting recognition.. but no way anybody but Sanchez wins the ROY. Even if he has pedestrian-slightly crappy numbers, he’s in NYC.
