Thanks. I'll build a spreadsheet and see if I can post these
in a more readable format in the future.
This is just meant to be a fun list, and I’m not gonna get into bashing anyone for their picks. I’ll let the folks commenting do that.
Cheers!

Thanks!
I’ll add that to the list. If nobody is already doing a weekly summary, I’ll go ahead and put these together on Saturdays.
I may start tracking and including the ‘Experts’ records with picking Broncos games, if that would be an interest to anyone.
Thanks again.

No problem. I'm glad you're doing this.
Somebody has to keep the pundits accountable, might as well be you. OKD, you’re pretty much awesome. You’ve been a great addition to the MHR membership.

Thanks again. I really appreciate the warm welcome...
from everyone.
This is fun. I’ll start a weekly post, and I’ll track how all the experts are doing with respect to calling our games.

I think that tracking the “experts” (lower case intentional, like the hof) picks over time for the Broncos would be very educational. It will be interesting to see if they start “coming around” later in the season (I for one, am not counting on it).

Pre season media Hype
That has got to be what it is. Nothing I can see on paper or in watching the games leads me to believe that the Chargers have even a reasonable chance unless the Broncos just fall down – Shannahan and Cutler are both gone, no reason to expect this team to fall down.

Schein is picking Denver...
…at FoxSports. It is the first time that he has this year, but he says he is doing it because his picks involving Denver are always wrong. Is he rooting against Denver with the pick FOR Denver?

Oh Oh!
Maybe it’s reverse psychology. He thinks the Broncos stink, but knows his picks have been abysmal so if he picks them they’ll lose and meet his secret desire to see them fail. Or maybe he’s just so clueless his picks are totally random. How does this man have a job in sports?

The old double-back flip with a twist prediction...
The “I’m picking them this time, cause I’m always wrong, so I hope I’m wrong again and they lose” trick.
Very cunning.

I’ll add Schein to the weekly list.
Thanks!

The only credible analyse of the group is Adam Shefter.
The rest predict off of the past, they have been wrong how many time so far this season? 5? Hmm…not very credible then are they?

I'm gonna get their records for the year...
and start including them next week. That way we can track how well they have called our games.
Also, I’ll build a better format, so it’s more readable.

Not to toot my horn but
I think the “experts” are not better than average person throwing the dart. I was that surprised about their records few years ago when I started checking the "expert’s records against mine and their records are just horrendous. Even I beat them year in & out, I still have more respect for those on ESPN’s Sunday Night count down if I factor luck into it. Here is the link

Just as reference I do a pick-em with my office and and the average missed so far this season is 21-22 games which is better than most of the “expert” statistics
A truth can only be expressed and enveloped in words if it is one-sided. Everything that is thought and expressed in words is one-sided, only half the truth; it all lacks totality, completeness, unity.

Schefter
Was the best Broncos reporter this town has ever known. I almost cried when he left the DP went to the NFL network, now he is at ESPN to counterbalance idiot Clayton. He has forgotten more about football than most of us will ever know. He is not only wise, but very humble. I always enjoy listening to his insider comments during his several times per week interviews on KOA.

Thanks odarol! On to the list they go.
Yeah, I noticed that about Theisman. He’s been calling for us pretty early.
Apparently, he can see what’s going on below the hype.
It’s encouraging that there are a few ‘experts’ who actually may know what’s going on.
Thanks again.

I have a problem with the league
scheduling two key division opponents to play when the home team is coming off of a bye and the away team playing the week before. The home team (Chargers in this example) is essentially given 2 advantages coming into the game. I think Denver comes in and wins anyways, but something about this stinks. I would say the same if the situation was reversed and we had the bye and home game versus the Chargers. In a tightly contested division race that could really give the one team the edge. Anyone else see a problem with that?
by Adam Manter on Oct 17, 2009 6:41 PM MDT reply actions 0 recs
The old adage that "if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best" comes into play here, for me anyway.
And according to many, the Chargers are still the team to beat in our division. Here is something to ponder though, if we beat them after their bye, with an increased amount of preparation and time to heal, at home, can anyone doubt who is the better team? Of course there will be detractors, considering that the Chargers are a bit ridden with injuries and LT apparently is not the same player he was even last year, but I think it will be tough to say that we are not the best team in the AFC West if we walk away with a victory, even for those most ardent supporters of SD in the MSM (though on that points, who really cares).
I think our schedule is brutal by any standards, especially when you consider the sooooooooft schedule that Warshington has had to this point, yet to play a team with a single win… But seeing as how we have played so far, I am glad that we get to the meat and potatoes in the middle of the year, get some big wins under our belts and carryover our success into the supposed easier divisional games against KC and Oakland.

they of the remarkably soft schedule, just got shown up to be pretenders by the Saints. Denver and NO are the teams to beat.

CBS NFL Today
If you can DVR it, this is a fun show with Shannon Sharpe having a great ol’ time every week; some video of Shannon hollering (I’m sure it was the winning OT FG against the Patriots) is priceless.
Anyway, previewing the Denver/SD game this TV crews picks are:
Dan Marino, Boomer Esiason, & Bill Cowher – Chargers
Shannon Sharpe – Broncos
Methinks Shannon will have more bragging rights next week.
