stephen jackson to the broncos
sign him....
jackson is available before trade deadline. and is on pace for a 1450 yd season for the sorry st louis lambs..
what a great pickup this would be due to buckhalters injury.....
we need a fulltime leading running back ... with a proven history of 1000 yeard seasons.
what would the offense look like if we had both threats... marshall, royal, orton. as well as a leading back.
the offense hasnt had a running back sin TD. LETS STEP UP AND SIGN HIM....
..

Umm...
Isn’t Knowshon already filling that role? Or at the least, has the strongly likely potential to do so?
Seems like a high-priced move designed to sell jerseys and tickets more than win games. To say nothing of completely unnecessary.

A little confused on this one...

Hey budasbronco
You’ve obviously copped a bit of a hiding in here. It’s cool – it happens… you’ve piped up and made a fan post because you obviously felt strongly about something Bronco-related.
I can’t see any follow up from you. You should join the conversation. You’ve got quite a few replies to your post in here. If you still feel strongly about this, then this is where MHR is fun. Get into the debate. Don’t be shy.

The Sky Isn't Falling
Appreciate what’s being built in Denver. Jackson would not make sense for any team to trade for that could use an iconic player in that position.
Personally, to mention Jackson in the same sentence to Terrell Davis is really not flattering at all. If Jackson was going to be that difference maker, it’d show in highlights.

we don't need a shooting guard on our team
were you looking for the nuggets board and got lost?
or were you talking about STEVEN not STEPHEN?
BTW, if it is STEVEN you’re talking about. No. It’ll take a first and a third, plus a player to get him.

+1
I did a quick google of stephen jackson to see what year he was drafted drafted him (details on that down lower) and it only turned up NBA shit.
Since when did all these Bolts From the Blue-esque children start posting idiotic stuff like this here?

Fun to think about, but too expensive
But given their recent history, the Bears are probably willing to trade away the rest of their picks for the remainder of the decade.

What???
I would NEVER swap Moreno for Jackson…damn, I like Buck a lor better than Jackson.
NO THANKS!

i heard them talking about how the rams should trade jackson
But not to us,it wouldn’t make sense there is just no need for another RB. What we need right now, we got.

I am not for this.
We have moreno. Buck should be back this week or next. It’s not an emergency situation at all.

the ONLY trade i want done is
for us to get Cribbs from clevland. Maybe a 3-4th rounder would get it done(Im jus totally guessing)
HILLIS
by robbo650 on Oct 18, 2009 8:11 AM MDT reply actions 0 recs
I wouldn't mind that.....
he would surely help the return game. But he’s got contract issues and is looking for a better deal than the one that will pay him over 6 mil next season. (I thought i read that somewhere) He probably doesn’t fit the salary structure of this team.

ya i read that he does hae contract issues after i wrote that
why cant players play out their contract ever?

If we signed Jackson we would have major contract issues.
We would have to pay Marshall, Royal, Orton, Moreno, Dumervil, Champ, etc. We don’t need anymore players.

?, St. Louis didn't cut him so we can't sign him?
What would you give up to trade for him, if you could get him for a 2nd or 3rd rounder I would do it, but my guess is that St. Louis would want a lot to part ways with their best player, not sure if i really value RB’s that much and I like our depth at that position, even though I think Hillis should be ahead of Jordan.

I like the players we have…but I do think the RB ranks are a little thin.
Buck has always been injury prone. Moreno has seemed to be an injury concern as well.
Without those two we’re left with Jordan and Hillis. If Hillis went down we would then have only Jordan and no FB.
That makes me a little nervous. Maybe we should bring Walker up from the PS (he’s still there right?).
"C" is for Championship...that's good enough for meeeee!!!

What we do need is a solid return specialest if there is one available.
We can’t keep prolonging this special need, and I don’t see anybody stepping up to fullfill that slot, especially not Royal, McKinley, Smith or Hillis.

Reggie Bush
A great returner, that just doesn’t fit into the saints system. He may be a good 1,2 punch along with Moreno in the backfield as well.

I made a big ol' post...
…and lost it, when like an idiot I clicked preview then promptly went to another website when the preview showed up.
Suffice it to say I analyzed the team rushing and leading rushers from 1995 (TD’s first year as the leading rusher) to ‘08. Our team had, to quote you, “a proven history of 1000 yeard seasons” from our leading rushers until the injury-fest last year coupled with Shanahan’s unholy fascination with Cutler’s arm.
I also had a history lesson: in the ‘04 draft, Kiper et. al. said the Broncos ’needed’ SJ cuz they had just traded Portis. They took DJ instead. Would you trade DJ for SJ (straight-up)? I wouldn’t.
Our best rushing teams weren’t with TD, but with Portis shouldering the load…
I finished up by telling you to stop fanposting until you’ve read enough to:
- Make insightful comments.
- Use proper grammar, punctuation, and organization.
Notice that you’ve got 25 comments of people wondering what cave you live in and no recs.
Oh and I threw in a jab at BFTB (note: not John, the rest of them—generally), since your post reads more like an average post over there rather than the insightful stuff we read on a daily basis here.
Hopefully that summary will work, cuz I’m not doing all the writing over again.
Because Montana has no professional sports, I gotta support the land of my birth.

Spelling errors and such notwithstanding . . .
and from a St. Louis area Broncos fan’s perspective . . . he’s a luxury at this point, but if he’s available and can be had at a reasonable price, go for it. This guy is REALLY good.

i agree
Jackson is a stud. And could only improve any team.
I think he’d be too expensive for us though. I doubt the Rams would let him go for anything less than a 1st and a 3rd. We just don’t need him that bad.
though the thought of him and Moreno running in the backfield does bring a smile to my face.

We have our RB in Moreno super star of the future. The chemistry with Buck & Moreno just find and we don’t need Jackson. Bad chemistry…

Hey guys, chill out a little
While I agree that trading to get Jackson would be a terrible idea, you guys don’t need to be so hard on budas. He’s obviously a Bronco fan who is excited about the season and saw some potential to possibly improve our football team. You guys kinda trashed him and if I were him, I would never want to post on this site again because of the way you guys fired back at him, especially you Drizzt. Instead of insulting him, give him a meaningful reason on why trading for Jackson is a bad idea, and give him some insightful comments on how he may be able to better improve his posts, instead of saying things like “stop fanposting until you’ve read enough to:” or “Since when did all these Bolts From the Blue-esque children start posting idiotic stuff like this here?” Not everyone can be a great and insightful writer like bear or guru, but that doesn’t mean they should be bashed for trying to input some ideas into the MHR readership. That is not the MHR way, and you guys should think a little about what you say before you say it, especially because I have seen some of you guys post things telling people not to name call and what not. Follow your own rules. orange&blue_aussie’s post is a good example of productive and positive insight geared towards helping buda to make better posts, while not insulting him or driving him away from the site. Not everyone’s comments were insulting, but there were too many that crossed the line.
by BroncoinOCCali on Oct 21, 2009 5:33 PM MDT reply actions 0 recs
My post...
was on the line, but I’ll maintain I didn’t cross it. It contained a whole lot more information than ‘NOOOOOOOOOO’.
In my original post I broke it down year by year with our team rushing stats and leading rusher’s stats. After i messed that one up I explained the gist of what I found—our best rushing teams were with Portis shouldering the load and not TD.
I forgot to explain that our best post-Elway team was assembled by trading away Portis and drafting DJ instead of SJ.
I’ll agree that this: “Since when did all these Bolts From the Blue-esque children start posting idiotic stuff like this here?” crossed the line by a lot. That was unnecessary.
I would argue, though, that we should go for quality and not quantity of our fanposts. Sure, I want him to stick around and add to the discussion [in the comments threads], but will I read his fanposts? Not until he proves he has a) a better grasp of history and b) a literate cell in his brain.
Because Montana has no professional sports, I gotta support the land of my birth.
