DOOM-ination

I was watching the Sunday night game between Chicago and Atlanta.  During the game I saw Atlanta rush 4 linemen and still manage to sack the Chicago quarterback. The announcers marveled about how Atlanta was able to manage the feat.  Then I was reading the recap of the Tennessee game and was stunned to see that Tennessee had -7 yards in passing offense, without ever taking a sack.  That episode started me thinking about sacks in general and feeling good about how well Doom has been doing in that category.  I discovered a rather interesting statistic.

Going into this weekend, the Broncos were 3rd in the league in sacks with 16.  Doom was tied for 1st with 8 sacks, or 1/2 of Denver's sacks.  Even more interesting than that was the discovery that Doom has more sacks than some NFL teams.  Again, Doom has 8 sacks, the following teams have fewer:
Atlanta  8 (okay, so this one is tie, but Doom has as many as a team)
    Houston 7
    San Diego 6
    New York Jets 5
    Jacksonville 5

Kind of bodes well for the Denver defense, don't you think?
