Rick Reilly's eating some crow
Not sure if anyone else has seen this yet but it looks like Mr. Reilly is admitting he severly underestimated our head coach. If anyone else like myself likes seeing people eat crow and admit when they were wrong enjoy the short article. I have to admit it was nice to see Reilly not sugar coat how bad he mis-read McDaniels, even if somehow he still thinks the Cutler trade was stupic

7th vs. 22nd? Try 13th vs. 19th!
Reilly points out that the Bears were 7th in scoring while the Broncos are 22nd. But that was before yesterday’s games – now the Bears are 13th, while the Broncos are 19th. And even so, before the game last night, the Bears had scored 105 points in 4 games – but 48 of those 105 points (nearly half!) came in one game against a woeful Detroit defense that has given up an average of 28 points in its other 4 games.
In fact, if you take out each team’s best offensive point performance (48 for the Bears vs. Detroit; 27 for the Broncos vs. Cleveland), you’re left with 71 points for the Bears and 72 for the Broncos.
Oh, and Orton is rated 9th in passing; Cutler 16th. Orton has thrown for 35 more yards. And his TD/INT ratio is 7-1 vs. 10-7. Yardage-wise, the Broncos overall are WAY better than the Bears (13th in the league vs. 26th).
Oh well, nobody said you had to be diligent to get paid…

I'm not sure I buy
I don’t see why it is legitimate to just take out each team’s top scoring game. The more important point to me is that the Broncos have allowed 56 fewer points, and so haven’t required as many points.

Small sample size
All I’m saying is that with only 5 games, a game like the Detroit one seriously skews the stats. So that’s a way of controlling the data

“I was wrong. The kid can coach. He’s been nothing short of a 5-8 coaching Godzilla.”
Hahaha, that made me laugh, and also nod my head…. yep, Godzilla biznatches!
I’m glad he owned up to it, and made no excuses… even though it still boggles the mind that people can still think that was a fair trade…
