The World's All-Time Worst Predictions

I should be on this list.  If I was better at predicting things, I wouldn't have sold my house in DC for $200K in 2002 only later to have found out that same house was sold in 2006 for $700K.  Dammit.  Anyways, here's my list:

"Television won't be able to hold onto any market it captures after the first six months. People will soon get tired of staring at a plywood box every night." - Daryl F. Zanuck, Producer/Director, 1946

"Everything that can be invented has been invented." - Charles H. Duell, US Patent Office, 1899

"I think there is a world market for maybe five computers." - Thomas Watson, Chairman of IBM, 1943

"Who the hell wants to hear actors talk?" - H.M. Warner, Warner Bros.,  1927

"DIVISION FINISH: 4  Face it, the Broncos are a mess. They could be a three- or a four-win team...To add to things, the defense that gave up 28 points a game is trying a completely new scheme. Ouch." - John Clayton, ESPN Nincompoop, 2009
