Watching the Chargers ...
Okay this is my first shot at a post so bear with me. Let me set the table first. I have four daughters. #1 live in South Carolina, #2 has an apartment not far from home and #'s 3 & 4 live at home. I turned the game on and daughters #2 & 3 were watching with me. #4 went to bed she gets up a 4 am to go to work. The rest of the story after the junp
So we have the game on and San Diego starts moving the ball. Well I get a little bit involved in the games and I stand up a yell at the D to stop messing around and stop the chargers. My daughters start laughing at me and when LT breaks free for about 15 yards daughter #3 who is not really paying attention looks up in time to see the saftey tackle him and says "sweet" Well I thought she had been paying attention and I look at her with the evil eye and said " who are you rooting for the Broncos or chargers" Taken aback she said "the Broncos I was saying that about the good tackle."
Well I was real happy when they forced the field goal. By this time the darn dog is standing at the door scrating it saying "I have to go outside" Of course nobody can take him out so I end up thinking I can get back in time to watch the Broncos take over after the kick off. Well I missed Eddie's kick return (thank goodness for instant replay) and daughter #2 says to #3 "dad's gonna be mad because he miss the Broncos scoring". Darn dog. Good thing I'm not a certain NFL QB (who shall be nameless). My dog is pretty old. Well I got back in time to see the replay.
Daughter #3 decides to go into the bedroom and watch TV in there. My daughters were texting back and forth during the game. (#2 had stayed and was watching with me.) When she decided to go home (she is a patriots fan). The next part is the funny part because I could laugh at it the next day. (mainly because we won the game.) So #3 texts #2 and asks if it" was safe to come back out to watch". #2 texts her back and said "come out at your own risk." Well this had been going on for about an hour with #2 telling #3 that I was still mad and that the Broncos were losing 17 -7 and and on and on. Finally #3 comes out into the living room where I was watching the game and Says "where's Kate" I said "she left about an hour ago" That is when I first learned that they were texting each other (I didn't know what the conversation was until this morning) and #2 had really set her up. We had a good laugh at that. I guess I had'nt realized how involved I had gotten into the games. I always wondered why nobody likes to watch the games with me. Now I know.
I had turned NFLTA on this morning to see what the "so called experts" had to say about the game. Well my little grandaughter, she will be 5 on Nov 6th, had just got up (She had spent the night with grandma and grandpa) and came into the room just as the highlights came on. Grandma asked her what she wanted for breakfast and she said "I don't want anything I'm watching the Broncos on TV". Later on in the day she told me her "two favorite teams were the Broncos and Red Sox. (in that order). The Red Sox part comes from living in New England I guess.
Life is great when your winning. Life is also sweet when you can share it and the Broncos with your loved ones. Hope you enjoyed this bit of humor.
GO BRONCOS!

great story rec'd
i was watching the game at home while my wife and daughter #1 were running a girl scout meeting in our living room. I was told I had to come and give them updates every few minutes.
In the middle of the 3rd quarter my brother who is most definitely NOT a football fan, calls and wants to talk. So we talked for while with the tv muted. :D
I was texting daughter #2 who goes to school in Boston. All of the campus tvs were showing the MLB playoffs. She said she was reduced to trying to follow it on internet feeds, cbssportsline.com game tracker and MHR. The live feeds kept cutting out and she ended up watching the last 1/3 of the game on a feed from Mexico. She said it was hilarious listening to it in Spanish. Then we talked on the phone for about an hour after the game.
Our animals went into hiding as my wife, daughter #1 and I went nuts watching the 4th quarter (after the scout meeting).
So, I can totally relate to you, PS.

She has a 3 yr old son and in april had twin boys. Looking forward to helping them understand football and who to root for. lol.

Thank you for sharing that. This year’s team just inspires. I see it all over the place here in MHR. What a great time to be a Bronco fan. I got to watch this game and the NE game with my Mom, who got me into football and specifically the Broncos back in 84.

Your right
about the inspiring part. I caught the Eddie Royal interview with the espn crew after the game. It seemd to me they were trying to bait him into saying the team was really lucky or something but he kept saying it’s about the team. We are a family we respect each other and the coaches. It was great to hear and see that the team has has really gelled in the locker room. They are getting there on the filed as well.

I've been wearing #53 "Romanowski's" jersey since the start of the season.
Not superstitious or anything but why change something when it’s doing good. Worked the local saloon here and some of the customers were razzing me when sandieggo went on top 20-17, I didn’t say to much just smiled and remembered?we haven’t given up too many points in the 4th qtr. When Sheffler caught the pass on the right side and juked the db and raced to the 7, I knew we were going to be in good shape to win. Great game all around and they’ve gotta stop making those little mental mistakes, ie, kicking the ball, spiking the ball and such. I think we can beat anyone anytime. It will be more pleasurable to watch this year for sure. Great story papastevens.

PS, this made me laugh
If evolution can go backwards, I am the picture of it during a bronco game, every play, every emotion. I can identify with you, man!

Nice story!
My family lives 1000 miles away, but of course I called my folks right after the win. My dad answered the phone by saying “6 and 0, 6 and 0, 6 and 0!” We talked for a bit about the game and then signed off for the night.
No less than 2 minutes later my mom calls back "Did you check out Eddie Royal’s arms on the post game show?! " Settle down mom, you’re 65 years old for crying out loud!

Daughter #1 reporting. lol
Well I didn’t get to watch the game while it was on but I did DVR it. I can’t wait for the boys to get older and be interested in it with me. My husband is not a sports fan so I have the responsibility to teach the boys about sports. lol! Luckily for them and me I have a great dad who taught me! Love you Dad!!!
