Points of View - Training MoBs

Hello MHR faithful, it has been a while since my last post; though I havebeen lurking around rather quietly with only a tiny comment here or there. I was reading BShrout's most recent article on 13-3 and I felt the need to speak up. I couldn't just post a small comment either, as I have a feeling i've got more built up on my mind than necessary for a simple response.

Star-divide

I have the be honest with you all, I have been riding the 13-3 train from the beginning... but I didn't think it would still be cruising at 290 MPH. We're like the magnetic-electro European train right now, which is crazy. Six games through the season and I thought we would be more like an Amtrak. You know, still rolling but more of a slow and steady not quite ready to fall apart type. You know like 5-1 at best or dare I say 4-2 (which still wouldn't be bad considering the pundits giving us a 4 win ceiling) but I am taken aback.

It could have been all the negativity around me, some of you may know, friends and family that just didn't have much hope for Denver this season because of last year and the off-season. I tried to never let it get to me and stick to my guns, which I have (outwardly), but internally I honestly didn't expect this. Did anyone? (besides Rod Smith).

Well regardless, I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Plenty of trash to talk around the league and more than a few "I told you so's" to the nay-saying family and friends. I've been out here in California for a week already (even watched the San Diego game right here in enemy territory) and im already missing the cool air and the sweet scent of victory that permeates the Denver area, especially since I live a stones throw from the Stadium.

Despite my present location, the slow going, and the upcoming bye-week... I can still take a few shots of Orange and Blue Koolaid everyday! I'm looking forward to coming home and are impending annihilation of the Ravens. I mean seriously... are we going to let a team from a place with a name like "Maryland" beat us. No way! That is just ridiculous. Those purple-parading-pansies are going to get boxed around by our O and D lines with swift and decisive hits thrown from Buck, Moreno, the Beast, Doom, Dawk, and Champ respectively.

The 13-3 train is all ahead full and showing no signs of slowing down at all. In fact I am suprised I haven't seen a chant of 16-0 taken up with unbridled zeal and ferver. That's okay though 13-3 works for me. I will be surprised if we get 4 losses this year and shocked if the team allows any more than that!

So with no further a'due:

GO BRONCOS! 13-3!

I can't wait to get my degree(1.5 years or so)

so I can move my family out to Northern Colorado……muhahaha

I want to live a couple hours drive from the stadium…since I dislike large metros greatly. :)

So here's plug for my home town

I think you’d love Windsor, about an hour or so drive north on I-25 from Mile High.

Lived in Windsor for four years

…you’re right – people would love it. Go Wizards.

I was born in Ft. Collins...

dunno how you feel about moderately sized cities, I know we moved ‘cause it got too big. But we also moved to a town of 1000 in a state where there are more deer per acre than people, so that probably gives you an idea of ’too big’. Great place though, especially for kids.

Because Montana has no professional sports, I gotta support the land of my birth.

Im in and out lately.

Living in Denver I get a ton of my Bronco fix from the games on sunday, the McDaniels show on Saturday, Bronco’s live on Monday. and so on. I usually pop into MHR on tuesday and read a couple post-game articles. (Lebowski’s “Stats that don’t lie” is one of my fav’s. I am totally a stat guy.) And i’ll stop in throughout the week to follow injuries and read a couple articles here or there.

There are so many great posts and such that I don’t really have much to say that hasn’t already been said, haha. That’s the biggest reason I haven’t said much, other than that I’ve just been busy. Thanks though, I’ll be around. You know, lurking in the shadows and such. ;)

13-3 Baby!!! was first coined by Mike Clark in a post about La La Land.

Sometime around the draft Mike trying to relieve the stress associated with the off season and all of the changes our team was going through. I climbed aboard the 13-3 train right away not wavering or doubting and I will tell you all why. I believe in my heart that the Denver Broncos are the classiest organization in the NFL bar none. I also believe that Pat Bowlen is not satisfied with just 2 Super Bowl trophies and got tired of sauntering around Dove Valley listening to the same old song and dance. I’ll have to be honest with everyone, I didn’t know that much about Josh McDaniels only that he was New Englands OC, then I beagan to do a little research along with reading the “Tales” series (bronco bear) aka Emmitt Smith and others. I got to thinking, this guy turned a bench warmer QB into a game managing winner (11-5), so I wasn’t too shocked that he didn’t keep our so-called franchise quarterback. I was fine with that transaction. The F/A’s came and I was amazed at the players we acquired while the other candidate coaches we had sat on their luarels. I couldn’t understand it at first but it seemed to make a lot of sense and wwe see where those other coaches are and what they are giving their fans…zilch! Yikes, and to think we could of had one of those guys, whew! Then the draft came along and everyone again was saying WTH….a running back? Well, we all know why now and we see this team as a selfless, tough, pyschical, vertile and determined team, all working for the common goal…Post season.

I predicted 8-8 last year before the season started and I was blast, are you crazy? We’re gonna score 35-40 points a game and we’re going to the Super Bowl and blah, blah, blah. Well it didn’t happen and our “franchise” quarterback said in his post game presser that we’ll have to work harder next year. I am so happy that Mr Bowlen got tired of hearing that. 13-3 Baby!!! Until we ain’t!

okay Alex, two questions

1.) What the heck is an MoB?
and
2.) Does this mean you aren’t going to post the transcripts to the Coaches Show?
I really thought you would continue with it, that’s why I didn’t bother. If you would have told me you were going away I could have taken care of it. As it is right now, I have other commitments, so I cannot fill that gap.

Kirk, your answers:

1) MoB is a gaming term for non-player characters. I’ve been playing World of Warcraft a lot lately (between school, working, and bronco games). I thought it was a fun pun to use.

2) No, I will still continue the Josh McDaniels show when I get back to Colorado next weekend. And I will be posting the new Beatpaths Powerseat Graph as well. Next time I am heading out of town I will give you a heads up so you might be able to fill in for me. I wish I would have said something, because i’m missing the show myself out here too! Lol.

Ok

I am familiar with WoW, but haven’t played since Windows 95 days. I don’t recall that term.
I wish I could do the coaches show , but I am going to the Colorado College Hockey game so I will miss it. One of these days I will get one of those DVR’s. Too bad it’s not covered by NFL Rewind. :-)

I wondered if that's what you meant by mob...glad to see some fellow nerds out here.

Although I’ve been WoW clean for three years now. You’ve gotta take it a day at a time…
