Broncos Opponents

This is just an observation, hardly worthy of a full fan post, but I wanted to note that SD, Dallas, NE, and Cincinnati all dominated their opponents today.  All were considered defective after losing to the Broncos, especially Cincinnati and Dallas.  Turns out our schedule is what we thought it was...very tough; we just turned out to be tougher.   The offenses the Broncos shut down looked pretty good today, eh?

NE 35  TB 7 - NE now 5-2

SD 37  KC 7 - SD now 3-3

DAL 37  ATL 21 - DAL now 4-2

CIN 45  CHI 10 - CIN now 5-2

A Good Point

I was just struck by how effective the offenses were this week; and NE did it last week against Tennessee, but your point may stand against Tennessee at this point.

Hey, it doesn't matter how good the teams are to me.

All that I know is that we are 6-0…that’s all that matters.

This is all true

The Broncos have beaten some good teams, but the overall record of the teams they’ve beaten is 20-20. Cleveland is 1-6, and the faders are 2-5. A little more sobering for the strength of schedule wouldn’t you say?

Agreed

except that 6 of those losses were to the Broncos, making those teams 20-14 against the rest fo the league. Not much can be read into this regardless, but we have gone against some very high-powered offenses and shut them down. Let’s hope we can get it going. I have the feeling we will this year.

Ah, you're right

20-14 it is.

Another way to look at it, look at the unbeaten teams:

Denver’s opponents: 20-20, 3 > .500, 1 @ .500, 2 < .500, 2 teams in 1st place in their divisions

New Orleans opponents: 18-20, 3 > .500, 3 < .500, 1 team in 1st place in its division

Indianapolis’ opponents: 11-26, 1 > .500, 1 @ .500, 4 < .500, 1 team in 1st place in its division, 2 teams without a win

By comparison,

Indy’s opponents are a combined 11-26, or 11-20 not counting their losses to Indy. Indy looks great, but really hasn’t been tested yet. Just like the Giants were before the last two weeks exposed them as overrated.
