Former Broncos Players in the UFL
I was looking for something to watch today on TV and came across a UFL game on HDNET. I thought I would check it out and see how it differs from the NFL. What I Ended up seeing was alot of former Broncos in only 5 minutes of watching Las Vegas at Florida. I took this as an example of the talent level under Mike Shanahan in recent years.
First the list of recent former Broncos playing in the UFL.
- P.J. Alexander
- Tatum Bell
- Patrick Chukwurah
- Nate Jackson
- David Kircus
- Josh Mallard
- Michael Pittman
- Simeon Rice
- Cecil Sapp
- Todd Sauerbrun
Now im not saying that the UFL is a league full of talentless players who couldn't make the NFL so they settled for the UFL. Im sure alot of players went for more money in the UFL rather than being inactive, or on a practice squad in the NFL. Although im not familiar with the UFL salary structure. The UFL also has good former NFL players such as former Superbowl XXXVII MVP Dexter Jackson. That aside, the UFL is what it is. When Brooks Bollinger, and J.P. Losman are the starting quaterbacks in the game, you get the point. It's sort of embarassing to see several of these players who were fairly key players for the Broncos at some point, are deemed only talented enough to play in a 4 team imitation of the NFL. Not to mention all the former Broncos who have yet to sign anywhere.
Make of this what you want but I like to look at it as a unfortunate example of Mike Shanahan's decisions as a GM, and the difference between the new and old regime. Just a little something to chew on. For anyone who has watched a UFL game isn't it weird how they interview players on the sidelines? During the game?? And how they have a camera in the locker room at halftime?

I can't believe
that Kircus can’t find a job in the NFL. He was overshadowed when he was here but he seemed to really being getting it his first couple years. That and seeing my boy Cecil up there really hurts…
Because Montana has no professional sports, I gotta support the land of my birth.
Socrates was once executed for 'trolling'.
^Needs explaining: don't call someone asking uncomfortable, slightly antagonistic questions trolls. In all odds they probably just want to learn. It's real easy to differentiate a 'Socratic' post from a trolling one (unless you're a resident of WCG).
^Needs further explaining: I have yet to post anything on WCG, don't worry, I'm not trying to rationalize anything I've done. I've just lurked over there and man, they are the model of post-peloponnesian war Athens.

David Kircus shatterd my friends jaw at a party and then ditched the court dates. That guy is ass.

Do you have more info on that fight? I've always been curious how it got started.

Well, at least they are playing...anything else and I'll probably get in trouble.
Good for them to at least play and make a few ducketts.

always liked Jack Nasty
I’m glad he is at least still playing at some level, considering all the injuries he had its a wonder he still makes it on the field.
I have just checked out the Las Vegas roster and its like a “where are they now” for those who didn’t quite make it. Adam Bergen, DeDe Dorsey, Teddy Lehman, Tim Rattay, Marcel Shipp, John Madsen, Tab Perry, Isaiah Trufant, Sammy Parker are all there along with a number of former Broncos.
and the sing along songs will be our scriptures - we gotta stay positive!

Well, in all fairness, there are a lot of former NFL players
Does that mean that everyone couldn’t evaluate players, and looking at the list, some of those players (Rice, Sauerbaun) were pro-bowl players at some time in their career, so they could play at some point at a high level in their career. And guys like Sapp and Chuckurah had decent NFL careers as role players.
I think you have to look at it in fairness to every team, I am guessing there are probably former Pats and Colts and Steeler players playing too, does that mean they couldn’t evaluate talent?

Tatum Bell thinks the Tuskers can beat the Buccaneers
Not lacking in confidence, Tatum made the statement that the Florida Tuskers were better than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Not that Tampa is a good team right now, but they do have 53 players who were able to make an NFL roster.
With all the ferocity of a Pomeranian behind a fence, that’s the kind of statement that can only be displayed by someone who knows they’ll never have to back it up.
