from the DenverPost

(John Leyba, The Denver Post)

Brandon Marshall hauls in a 51-yard pass in the fourth quarter for the game-winning touchdown.

TAKE IT.

Love it!

I loved how excited Josh was when Marshall matrixed his way into the endzone punking those FIVE defenders! And then the Josh/Brandon hug was just awesome! WOOOOOO!

Nice!!

Mashall embraces the new regime! Literally! LOL

Daniel Graham

All the way down field. Just in case. Good ol’ Thomas Jefferson boy. I love him.

by legendarywalton on Oct 4, 2009 11:14 PM MDT reply actions

I loved how he

didn’t really know who to block there were so many Boyz around, so he just kind of spread his arms and helped to keep the path clear just long enough for Marsh to take it home! That was big!

I love Dan Graham, he is the man. But that play was all Marshall. He scores with or without that assist from an TJ boy.

Love the Broncos. Mike Nolan is a genius.

YES

That is a player running with purpose and resolve. And to see his interaction with McD after ward….hopefully we’re seeing a new beginning.

GO BRONCOS

Don't argue with fools. It's how they reproduce.

Hopes for next week:

knock Tom Brady down as much as possible. If we’re gonna be penalized for it (like Baltimore was for no reason), then at least make it count. Catch my drift? Brady’s more overdramatic than Cutler was in the preseason.

TAKE IT!!!

by Joe Medina on Oct 4, 2009 11:24 PM MDT reply actions

Yeah, the new "Roughing the Brady" penalties

worry me playing against them. It’s like you can’t even breath on him too hard without getting a flag on the field for it.

That hug made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Kyle Orton: “YES YES YES YES”

Haha, I love it.

Play of the year (after Stokely)

so far and I will just not get tired of watching it. I agree with the above, it wasn’t just the play itself but the excitement from Marshall and his interaction with teammates and McD after the play that really almost made me teary eyed.

Awesome.

Definatly a special play

I hope this opens the door up for some more plays involving Marshal in the future.

I read somewhere that “definitely” is the most often misspelled word.

I bet I’ve been guilty of this a time or ten.

Love the Broncos. Mike Nolan is a genius.

Thanks for posting.

I love when broadcasters let the moment sink in after big plays like that. Maybe it’s just a Joe Buck thing, but it’s always striking to hear silence from the booth after a big catch or a big home run, letting the crowd and player reactions underscore what just happened. I actually like Gus Johnson much more than Joe Buck, but I’ll take this reaction over a “gusgasm” any day.

by ButteBronco on Oct 5, 2009 6:52 AM MDT reply actions

Me too.

I like both as well. Gus Johnson’s call was crazy and it is nice to see a CBS announcer call sudden plays like that. However, hearing the crowd just go nuts is REALLY nice to hear in a situation like yesterday. Joe Buck is one of those announcers I like listening to.

All I gotta say is thank God for BDawk and Champ!!!

Otherwise, that BMarsh catch n run woulda been diminished by that long Romo-Hurd 4th down play. BDawk ran all the way back and caught up with Hurd. Then Champ with the win-saving deflection in the end zone! SWEET!!!

I think I'll just leave these here.

lol @ Newman

Did anyone catch Newman’s lame attempts at blaming the refs on that one?

“I couldn’t have played that play any better,” Newman said. “I could have sworn it was going to be a penalty. He grabbed my jersey and threw me to the side. If that wasn’t a hold, I don’t know what is. I tried to grab him back. I figured either way, we were both going to be called for holding. But the refs didn’t see it.”

The first part of his statement was true, but man up and admit you got beat by a tremendous play and athlete, Newman!

“NEEEEWWWWMAN.” *seinfeld grimace

Yeah, I almost strained a muscle

…rolling my eyes at that one. Man up and stop making excuses. (Or, as Tallahassee from Zombieland says: “Nut up or shut up!”)

Maybe if you went for the swat instead of the pick, then BMarsh wouldn’t have made that catch over you. You were right there!

If BMarsh actaully chucked you to the ground and didn’t get called, I could see why you are whining. But you got beat at the line, got beat during the catch, and got beat again during the run to the end zone while you got blocked by your own teammate.

Someone send this guy some cheese.

Maybe not as exciting as Stokely’s but certainly requiring a hell of a lot more talent and skill. That was the play of the weekend and a very good reason why BM is going to be a rich man in 2010 (if not in Denver, it one of two dozen other NFL cities).

Love the Broncos. Mike Nolan is a genius.

by McGeorge on Oct 5, 2009 12:29 PM MDT reply actions

Doesn't get much better than this!

The most exciting thing to me though is we have 12 more weeks of football still against the best teams in the league! BRING THEM ON!!!!

+1 montana!

I’d rather we play the best, week in and week out, than the worst. We’ll hold our own, and we’ll be that much better when the playoffs start. And we’ll be there!!!
