Why no field goal???

Any ideas (besides complete coaching and time management ineptitude) on why Dallas didn't try for a long field goal at the end of the first half? They had a time out (or at least ample time to spike the ball) and were only around the 30-35 yard line. Am I missing something?

Nope.

Not missing anything I can see. Anybody got an idea?

Their own 32 yard line.

that would make it about an 85 yard field goal.

yup

They were never in range.

Here’s the game book from NFL channel: http://bit.ly/15L6jd

6 1:52 0:00 1:52 Punt DAL 7 6 25 0 25 2 DAL 29 End of Half

It’s hard to understand unless you view the PDF but they began the drive on their own 7-yd. line and advanced it *25 yds. to their own 29-yd. line — perhaps when the QB downed the ball on the last play, after reaching the 32 on the previous play. Regardless, it would have been a heckuva kick.

The new camera angles are different

Having multiple camera angles, with all of the closeups and especially having a camera behind the line of scrimmage sometimes makes it looks at first glance like the team is going in instead heading to the 50. Once in a while I have to check the arrows on the yard markers to determine where the teams are.
