The Marshall Play
Be honest...
How many times have you watched the 51-yard, game winning, MSM crazed, NFL networks "anatomy of the play", season propelling, player reviving, pick up your jock-strap Newman, best of the week, emotional, cowboy crushing, all you can handle of me, "Welcome back big boy", mile-high, touchdown play?
Please realize that most replays showed it 2-3 times and the "anatomy of the play" on the NFL network showed it at least 5 different angles.

We were in the north endzone guiding him "home"!
What a great effort. Indeed, “Welcome back big boy!”

Agreed, but
I learned something from it. I enjoyed Mayock’s take on it, and how during the presnap read, McD said to Orton “3 corners”. Then he said, “He’s pressing”. They interspersed interviews of Orton and Marshall discussing the presnap read and how they had identified it in practice and were planning on exploiting it. McD’s interview mentioned that they had seen that coverage a little earlier and if it showed up again, they would exploit it. They did.
Mayock then showed us the previous play’s coverage with an off corner and then showed us the pressed coverage. He also showed us, by the movement of the free safety, that the press coverage was man under, and that meant the coverage they were looking for was here. Mayock then ran the play and showed us exactly how Marshall juked the corner (yes, he grabbed a little jersey to do it). He also drew up the coverage for us and showed KM blowing up the LB. You don’t see that part when the MSM is showing “Marshall’s play”. Marshall couldn’t have done it without the other 11 guys, and Marshall made it a point to give kudos to Orton and Graham.
Although I understand these concepts and understood what Orton, BM, and McD were saying, the way Mayock explained it, interspersed interviews, and diagrammed it really brought it home for me.
Of course, I’d gotten it after the first 2,000 times they showed it, but I’m quicker than most.
Wherever you go, there you are.

Yeah, that was cool...
I had never realized that the coach could be talking in the QB’s ear seemingly right up to the snap…Are there limits to this? Can the coach say “look out!” if the QB’s about to be sacked from the blind side??

The NFL
has an official who cuts off the signal when the play clock hits 15 secs. Just because McD is talking, doesn’t mean that Orton was hearing anything.

In the 5 yard start of the play there was momentary contact,
Newman was playing up close to Marshall on the play, so Marshall snatched his left shoulder for leverage and went around him down the field to catch the ball over the top. No penalty there bub!
