The past meets present clip at DB.com
It’s sure good to see that the players are trying hard to contain their excitement about the stunning beauty of the striped socks so they can concentrate on playing football! LOL
Dawkins: “It matters not what uniform we wear.”
Peterson: “Brown? It doesn’t matter. Doesn’t matter what color we wear. What you wear really doesn’t dictate much of anything.”
Even Gene Mingo is like, “We didn’t have to like what our uniform looked like. It wasn’t about the uniform, it was about the person in the uniform.”
Ringing endorsements if I ever heard them! LOL Looks like we don’t have to worry about the uni’s going to our guy’s heads or anything… LOL

The way Belichick prepared McD
is making it a tiny bit harder for me to hate Belichick so much.
The difference in the way he treated McD as opposed to all the other assistants who left NE, and haven’t done so well, is really promising. Love him or hate him, Belichick is undeniably a good evaluator of talent, and if he sees as much promise in McD as these types of stories make it seem, then we could be looking ta a real good coach here for a long time.

I was shocked by that article too
Belichick going out of his way to help McDaniels succeed is really opening my eyes. Maybe he really is a nice guy deep down and just hates the msm as much as I do. I’m sure if I had to deal with those hyenas on regular basis I would come across as ornery too. Maybe I shouldn’t be so quick to judge him… Nah, it’s still the Pats. GO BRONCOS!

yeah, have to admit
It DOES change some of my sentiments. That “bible” was something he didn’t have to do for Josh at all – but it speaks so much…about both Bill and Josh. I couldn’t be more thrilled that Bowlen went out and got him! Thank you, Pat!

I think the comment was actually “less educated,” but whatever. It’s true. They know what they’re doing, and we’re all trying to figure out what they’re doing, some with more success than others.

Frankly the worst thing Woody can do is draw attention to that comment and himself.

As always, your hard work putting together Horse Tracks is greatly appreciated.
Here’s an article that probably came out after you put the list together that is not listed that gets my goat:
The truth is sexy … and so are NFL Truths by Jason Whitlock:
It’s comical watching everyone fall over themselves praising Josh McDaniels for Denver’s 4-0 start when the Broncos’ undefeated start is the No. 1 reason McDaniels should be ripped.
Put Jay Cutler under center and the Broncos are a serious Super Bowl threat rather than a nice, first-quarter-of-the-season story.
Kyle Orton ain’t winning no Super Bowl. Not in this life. Not on this planet. McDaniels’ mishandling of Cutler might’ve destroyed a Super Bowl team. That’s the story. That mistake isn’t water under the bridge. We don’t forget about it because it happened in February. You can lose the Super Bowl in the offseason just as easily as you can by improperly using timeouts or calling the wrong plays.
At least more people are not as quick, as Whitlock, to fall all over themselves to tear into McDaniels and Orton now that the team has destroyed their preconceived prejudices.

anybody
who begins a football column with gloating (at least as far as I can tell, though I don’t know why you would gloat over that) about how he was some stupid photo shoot, even going to the lengths of putting a photo of himself to prove it, obviously has some mental issues which should make you seriously question his opinions.

He doesn’t “want” to win. He NEEDS to win. Josh wants to win more than anything. I loved that clip where he is talking to Orton on the sidelines. “No more ‘My Bad’, you GOTTA HIT IT!!!!” He doesn’t take crap from anyone and he wants what is going to WIN the game. This guy is a keeper.

Anatomy of a play
Wow…. great video, but the glaring thing I took from it was something I looked for all week and never saw…. Brandon DID grab the jersey and yank. I know we have said he didn’t. I know several have watched it in HD and sworn he couldn’t have pulled, that it was an open-handed swat or shove. Watch the video again, starting at 2:12. you see the windmilling arms, you see the contact, and it looks innocuous. But if you pay attention, look for what the TE’s body does when Brandon’s hand engages. Watch the direction of the arm movement, and the direction of the TE’s body movement. Brandon’s arm pulls towards himself, and the TE lurches in the same direction. THAT was reminiscent of Shannon Sharp in it’s brevity and effectiveness.
I am not criticizing Brandon here, it’s part of the game and he got away with it. From that perspective it was well done indeed…. but my homerism is not going to put blinders on my objectivity. The TE got used and abused = ) I am sure he will carry that play with him for a long time.
I'm tired of hearing about money, money, money, money, money. I just want to play the game, drink Pepsi, wear Reebok.

Great catch!
You know what? When I glanced at Newman’s comments (I presume you mean CB, not TE?), I thought he meant Brandon grabbed him just before the catch. Looking back, he actually meant off the snap at the LOS. Brandon definitely DID grab Newman’s jersey. However, I’m guessing this stuff happens both ways and all day long.
Again though, great catch and I think everyone else who wrote that Brandon didn’t grab jersey was also thinking Newman was referring to the moment just before the catch.
by Douglas A. Lee on Oct 8, 2009 7:00 PM MDT up reply actions 0 recs
LMAO… I meant CB, and I think it was actually a DE = )
Newman said he tried to grab back… and he couldnt do that with Marshal behind him, so I looked at the play from the LOS, and saw it. He is still a whiner, but with a point.
I'm tired of hearing about money, money, money, money, money. I just want to play the game, drink Pepsi, wear Reebok.

Not that he didn’t do it, but wasit illegal that he did? There is a lot of jersey grabbing at the LOS.
