I also liked another thing he said about the new guys, that “I really don’t understand why their team let them go.” In light of the good apples and bad apples quote, it seems clear McDaniels was a better evaluator in his ability to recognize team-enhancing qualities (in addition to their more obvious skill-sets).

Champ is slowly opening up about that disaster known as last season, it would be interesting to hear the names. You could take a wild guess and assume that it was some of the ones who got cut but never got picked up, but that would probably not be accurate, maybe some of those bad apples moved to other teams too.
