The official song(and possible nickname)of the 2009 Denver Broncos' Defense

The song is Cowboys From Hell by Pantera. Read the lyrics or listen to the song and tell me what you think.

Star-divide

Under the lights where we stand tall
Nobody touches us at all
Showdown, shootout, spread fear within, without
We're gonna take what's ours to have
Spread the word throughout the land
They say the bad guys wear black
We're tagged and can't turn back

You see us comin'
And you all together run for cover
We're taking over this town

Here we come reach for your gun
And you better listen well my friend, you see
It's been slow down below,
Aimed at you we're the cowboys from hell
Deed is done again, we've won
Ain't talking no tall tales friend
'Cause high noon, your doom
Comin' for you we're the cowboys from hell

Pillage the village, trash the scene
But better not take it out on me
'Cause a ghost town is found
Where your city used to be
So out of the darkness and into the light
Sparks fly everywhere in sight
From my double barrel, 12 gauge,
Can't lock me in your cage

You see us comin'
And you all together run for cover
We're taking over this town

Here we come reach for your gun
And you better listen well my friend, you see
It's been slow down below,
Aimed at you we're the cowboys from hell
Deed is done again, we've won
Ain't talking no tall tales friend
'Cause high noon, your doom
Comin' for you we're the cowboys from hell

I have to go for no...

Simply because of the word “Cowboys”, lol.

The 1977 team

used the song “Make those miracles happen” by Jon Keyworth, then a Broncos Fullback.

Why not have a contest for locals?

I think someone in the MHR Network can do it.

Re-write.

When I was at Princeton, I re-worked Country Roads (the Me First and the Gimme Gimmes version, sorry) to fit my eating club, which was fun and well received. I’m with the comment above that doesn’t like the repeated mention of “cowboys” but it’s easily replaced with “Broncos” without losing anything. Heck, the song can be made even more football-y with other cosmetic edits! Just a thought…

"A player who conjugates a verb in the first person singular cannot be part of the squad, he has to conjugate the verb in the first person plural. We. We want to conquer. We are going to conquer. Using the word 'I' when you're in a group makes things complicated." ~ Wanderley Luxemburgo, 1999

I thought the official song had already been declared.

"Really, I'm a high-motor guy. Tough, hard-nosed, a hard runner, can make you miss at times. And just competitive. I love to play the game and I bring that energy to my team. So, we'll see how that goes." - Knowshon Moreno

That song doesn't even sound like PJ.

I thought it was some PJ knock-off band when I first heard it. Definately NOT one of their best. CFH is a great song and album by heavy metal’s best band. But it does have “cowboys” in the title, and Pantera are notorious Cowboys fans (Phil is a Saints fan).

Dime was and always will be my favorite guitar player; nobody could touch him. I still can’t believe he was murdered while playing on stage. R.I.P. Darryl “Dimebag” Abbott, you meant the world to me.

In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida by Iron Clady,I mean Iron Butterfly

The thumping drum solo goes in time with the thumping the D’s been putting on people. When Clady is introduced they could play Iron Man

Voted NO

The word “Cowboy” in there is what did it for me.

For a song, I kind of like the one Guru picked out: Fixer by Pearl Jam because that is what we did in the offseason…..fix this team

Name for the D

Ok, how ‘bout this one. The Terrible Toos. We’re too old, too young, too short, too slow, too little, and too nice with too much character. HA!!!!!!!!
Definition of the Terrible Twos – "The Terrible Twos are often characterized by oppositional behavior. “No” becomes a favorite word."
Sounds like our defense. GO BRONCOS!!

Dreamer

Growing up in Colorado one of my favorite things was skiing. I was not the greatest, but really enjoyed the mountains. Many a time after skiing all day at Mary Jane or A-Basin driving home with a few road pops I would crank up Supertramp.

After this years fiasco with the Broncos I thought it might be fitting to use this song…. Go Broncos

Dreamer, you know you are a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said dreamer, you’re nothing but a dreamer,
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said “Far out, – What a day, a year, a life it is!”
You know, – Well you know you had it comin’ to you,
Now there’s not a lot I can do

Dreamer, you stupid little dreamer;
So now you put your head in your hands, oh no!
I said “Far out, – What a day, a year, a life it is!”
You know, – Well you know you had it comin’ to you,
No there’s not a lot I can do.

We’ll work it out someday

If I could see something
You can see anything you want boy
If I could be someone-
You can be anyone,celebrate boy.
If I could do something-
Well you can do something,
If I could do anything-
Can you do something out of this world?

Take a dream on a Sunday
Take a life, take a holiday
Take a lie, take a dreamer
Dream, dream, dream, dream, dream along…

Dreamer, you know you are a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
I said dreamer, you’re nothing but a dreamer
Well can you put your hands in your head, oh no!
OH NO!
