Kind of a sad game plan today...
After giving up 100+ yards rushing the last two weeks, we didn’t even attempt to establish the run. Lots of underneath plays— looked like the preseason all over again. Great effort by the D, not so great effort by the OL and the coaches.
18 to 28 run/pass. Almost 2 to 1
A lot of that is because we were down, but we rarely attempted to start a drive with a run, to keep us on track. We should have kept pounding it.

Put this one on McD and the staff.
The defense was on the field way too much because of an inept offensive game plan. Yes, they were bringing pressure and we were attempting to mitigate it with screen passes, but there are other ways to stop that— draws, counters, a general tendency to run the ball more than throw it. Our downfield routes were awkward… lots of 20 yard hooks.
Baltimore is at home, coming off a bye, and needs a win. Recipe for disaster.

Good game on the Ravens part
but shitty tackling, terrrible play calling, and no offensive line help is more on us, not them.

I'm with you on playcalling.
Offensive game plan stunk and didn’t change at the half. Offensive line did look better in the second half, but we couldn’t convert 3rd downs, our Defense suffered because of that. Orton had no one to throw to an no time to do it.

McD gets his first F
out-coached today and the players got out-played. This is the type of game you can’t expect Orton to get you back into and then win. So, now we see our limitation exploited by a solid Ravens team that had been down on its luck. Let’s see how McD responds with next week’s game plan and preparation.
And McD has not given Kyle a CHANCE to get us back in...killed by TOP and a loyalty to a bad run game. Have to say, I am NOT a fan of Moreno...hes a 1st round Forte!

Ravens are a good team, i thought this game could be a loss.. but i see us rebounding at home next week.
Teams lose
If anyone thought that we were going to go 16-0, then they should have planned on some disappointment. Nothing wrong with 6-1.
I just don't think Orton can take us all the way. I know this is only one game but teams now know they only have to defend fifteen yards. Orton cannot go deep and teams will know it after this game.

Losing this one isn’t the end of the world or a big surprise, given the odds, playing at Baltimore, a good team better than record, desperate for win, morning game, Broncos due to lose. They’re a good team and broncos could probably use a loss to slap them back awake. Back at it next week.
I will seriously laugh at any fair-weather fans who are using this as a reason to abandon faith and ship at this point. 6 and 1, what a tragedy. Anyone who rips them for this loss needs to go hang out with John Clayton and leave the rest of us alone. :-)

Nobody enjoys a loss
And hind sight is 20/20. We lost to a good team on the road. Whether we lose by 1 or 23, a loss is a loss. And our game plan changes week to week, so what may have shown as a weakness, may not even factor in next week.
Baltimore is a balanced team.

Think about this for a second...
Baltimore had lost three straight. They were playing at home with their fans going crazy. If they lost this game, they would be out of the play-off race. They have tons of veterans, especially on their defense.
What I’m saying is, is that Baltimore wanted it way more than we did. There is no denying that.

Don't get me wrong. We have a great team, I said last spring that the best move McDaniels did was bring Nolan in, and then BDawk. But a team cannot be great with a QB that limits your forward passes to 5 to 12 yards.

Time to give it up Mike.
The OLine didn’t give him the time to make plays. Sorry dude. That’s it, our OLine better get their selves together or else.
bfree, you're not listening to what I'm saying. I'm not saying Orton can't manage, I'm saying that from here on out teams will put their entire team on the line knowing the Orton is only accurate out to twelve yards. This is a big problem.

Give it a rest, would you?
If the play is designed to go down field, Orton can get it there.
And I’m sorry, but I get tired of people rationalizing this guy’s negativity week after week. We’re in for a long week of it elsewhere, so it would be great if we didn’t have to hear a lot of ill-informed garbage here. Orton can throw the ball. But for some reason, our offensive line gave him little time today — and the offensive game plan was foiled by a good Raven’s defense, who pressured and then tackled well all day.
Exactly,
our Oline got beat. Plain and simple. Not many teams can do that. This one can.

Thing is, Big Ben is hard to bring down, and we just showed that if we can’t get the QB to the ground when we pressure, we’re vulnerable.
