Why this Sunday is the most important.
I agree with most of you, last night was tough to watch. Two weeks in a row, much more tough. Our offense looks a little inept, which is a surprise, but certainly not something that can't be fixed. McDaniels, I still have faith! But let's take a look at what we've accomplished before we go bandwagon-jumping insane. Following the Oakland game, we began what I considered to be 'the guantlet' of our schedule. Dallas, New England, San Diego, Baltimore, Pittsburgh. Not including our games with them, those teams are a combined 25-10. Look at that number! That's a really rough stretch of games, not a one of them with less than a .500 record. And we walked out of the guantlet 3-2. I'm not freaking out, I'm actually pretty pleased.
However, this Sunday I think is even more important than last night's debacle. It's against a non-conference opponent, true, but the Redskins are a mess. If you need me to explain why we should win this game, you haven't watched any football this year. Losing to Pitt and Baltimore was hard, but those two teams were in the AFC Championship last year, and they were the tail end of a really hard string of games for us. But not succeeding at Washington? That, I believe, would be a much more painful blow than these last two losses combined.
We won 3 of the 5 games we weren't supposed to win. Good for Broncos!! Now, we HAVE HAVE HAVE to win these games we are supposed to. That, my friends, is how we still go 12-4, 13-3, or better. There's not a single game we can't win, but we gotta win the games we should win!
GO BRONCOS!

7-2 is good
Not like we lost to oakland or KC, here, guys. These last two losses are to teams that are the type of physical teams we are transforming into. They have had the opportunity to get improvement at each position over time, and much longer to master the system(s), both O and D. No shame losing to either of these (though the Ravens may have had to expend a lot of energy to beat us, judging by the results of their game Sunday.) Our D again played very well for an extended period of the game, only wearing down late, when the O could not do its share.

all in all
the thing that gets me the most is the inability to see the big picture.
we lose in a classic trap game to the ravens and get beat by the world champs coming off their bye week, in a game that could have gone either way until mendenhall started ripping off long runs late in the third…..that is the adversity that the broncos are facing
take a look around the league and you will see a ton of teams facing adversity much greater then this team…..and im talking about teams that were supposed to be playoff contenders: miami, carolina, new york giants, baltimore, tennessee, washington, green bay, chicago.
like this post said, take care of business against the redskins and we are 7-2 with a home game against the chargers to take effectively a 3 game lead in the division (head to head tie break).
anyone who is pulling the chord on their parachute with regards to this team after last night is insane. lose to the redskins and it is time to pull the parachute.
win against the redskins and say hello to a perfect storm of a game to deliver the knockout blow to the chargers. beat san diego and we are 8-2, assuming they win against philadelphia, they will be 6-4.
do the math:
if they finish the season 6-0 denver needs to go 4-2 to win the division.
if they finish the season 5-1 denver needs to go 3-3 to win the division……
by now everyone should be getting the point i am trying to make.

Agreed.
It seems like last night everyone was starting to jump off the cliff. Now things seem to be calming down a little bit.
It’s not the end of the world, like you said. These two losses aren’t going to kill us, long term. Sure, it looks like the sky is falling on the offense, but it isn’t. We played 2 of the best defenses. They both played in the AFC championship game last year. They aren’t pushovers.
It’s all going to be okay…………. Just massage your ear lobes and repeat “woosah woosah woosah………”
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.

Unfortunately
I thought that last night’s game would say one heck of a lot more about this team than last weekend’s. But I also thought they would pull it out. I didn’t see the collapse coming, especially on both sides of the ball again in the 2nd half. They’ve flirted with an anemic offense off and on all season, but once the D stopped playing at an unreal level, the offense was oh so exposed even more.
I think they’ll beat the Skins. They have to. A loss to Washington would signal a very real setback. Washington, in a word, sucks. Unfortunately, the following 3 of 4 games against SD, NYG, and Indy just became a little more iffy.
And with the 32nd pick in the 2009 NHL draft, the Red Wings select: Someone other than Ryan O'Reilly. LOL@Detoilet.

Right on
Bummer of a loss, but still better than my projected 8-8 going into the season!

It's not so much a "must win" but rather a "better not lose" game.
All you get from drafting the "best player available" is a team full of good football players.
Cotton McKnight: I'm being told that Average Joe's does not have enough players and will be forfeiting the championship match.
Pepper Brooks: It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em.

right on the money
I live in philly, our family is going to D.C for the Weekend..It is my sons 4 and 2 there first Broncos game..I cant wait..It is a must-win game, only because the Redskins are in serious catastrophe..I think we break out the offense, and hit the ground running..This next stretch of games arent that easy..7-2 would be a great start..

Right on Rocky...enjoy....
But have any of our stretch of games been easy? We have had the hardest schedule in the NFL…bar none!

I like the direction of our team
Looking good overall and they need a win this week to boost them up.

After watching the Giants the last couple weeks...
I feel much more comfortable about that game. They started off strong, but after a few games, Coughlin ran out of ideas. He is all washed up.

P.S. We ALSO play them coming off their bye week. What is with this crap? Do we get EVERYONE off a bye week?

I think they play Atlanta
after their bye week at home and then get us after a short week. Hopefully, we will have gotten back some momentum by then. Go Broncos!

No bandwagon jumping here!
I’m still redicting 12-4 :)
A proud prognostication of 10-6 in 2009!!! (April 2009 prediction)
Revised to 12-4 due to reality!

Hate to say it, but
I think this is going to be a tooth and nail kind of game. Washington’s D is tough, but particularly in ways that might be problematic for us: physical on the line, and takes away the deep ball.
I hope our defense gives us a short field.
