Constant Redzone offense
I believe that the Broncos offensive scheme at this point will make the team one of the top offensive units in the redzone from this point forward. Hear me out.......
The reason that playing offense in the NFL becomes more difficult when inside the opponents 20 yard line is because the field becomes shorter. As a defensive unit the long "over the top" ball is no longer a concern.
All I have heard the past few weeks is that Denver has no downfield threat and that defenses are able to play them far tighter because of the lack of downfield pressure. So when you think about it Denver has played the last two weeks against redzone defenses the entire game, not only that but two of the best defensive units in football. Both Baltimore and Pittsburgh have focused on no more then 30 yard chunks of the field (arguably less) when on defense.
As of now these issues the last two games seem like negatives but who hear honestly doesn’t think that McDaniels will find a way to improve the deep threat portion of this offense? I am sure that he will figure it out. When that happens then the holes in the run game will open up as the defenses will no longer be able to play "redzone" defense on our own 20 yard line.
This may be an optimistic POV but looking forward Denver has played 2 of the best defenses in "redzone" scenarios for entire games. This can do nothing but improve the teams efficiency when playing in the actual redzone going forward.
GO BRONCOS!

Redzone Offense
You paint an interesting image about how the team has been forced into playing Redzone offense between the 20’s. You also raise a good question regarding the long ball. Put the two together and here’s what we get….we are struggling in the redzone. It does not matter whether we use the long ball or not. Once we get in the redzone we struggle. If the long ball gets us into the redzone we will struggle. There is no such thing as the long ball in the redzone.
What I mean.....
is that Denver is basically playing Redzone defenses the whole length of the field because defense are not afraid of anything over 20 yards down the field. Therefore they have a lot of practice in these “tight spaces”. When they now play defenses that are not as good and they open up the pass game a bit they will move the ball better between the 20’s and should be better in redzone circumstances because they have played against that type of defense so much.
Just an optimistic point of view I guess.
We aren't going to fix the scoring if we don't fix the running game.
Balance is what scores points whether it’s in the redzone or elsewhere on the field. Prime example is the Steeler game. They knew we abandoned the run so they stacked us on the passes that never got past 20 yds of trajectory, thus we became one demensional and predictable. Teams will exploit that and beat us. My only hope is that McD is holding something back believing we will be facing one or 2 of these teams in the playoffs where it really matters. That’s my hope anyway.
