Bears Remaining Schedule re Where are we to draft?
Unless the Bears get their act together quickly, they are looking to be 8-8 at best. More than likely they will end up 7-9 or 6-10. This should net us a top 10 pick. Thank goodness Coach McD had confidence in his abilities and team.

Sorry for my ignorance....
But, I guess I am not as familiar with how the Chi/Denver trade went down last off season. How does the Bears record reflect in where we will pick in the upcoming draft? From the way I keep reading is that the worse the Bears do the higher our draft pick gets. Is this correct or am i just a simple minded raider fan who didn’t pass the fourth grade?
I think the Broncos looked awesome against the Steelers (for 3 quarters). We went toe-to-toe with the world champs. In fact that was the best opening drive i have seen all year. A W would have been great but I think we proved more to ourselves than what meets the eye.
Thanks for the info.
Go Broncos!
Go Eagles! (this week)

We have the Bears 1st rd pick. We gave Seattle our 1st pick.

That isn't the whole story though
The Cutler trade brought us Chicago’s first round pick 2010. At that point, we had two first round picks next year — ours and Chicago’s. Then in the early second round, McD began salivating at the value of Alphonso Smith at the 37th overall pick. I say “value” because he has since said he sees Smith as a first round talent, and at that point, it was the second round. McD is on the phone with Seattle, asking what they wanted for the 37th (38th?) pick. Seattle says your first next year. Some discussion ensued about which first round pick — the one we got from Chicago, or our original? McD agreed that it would be ours and not Chicago’s. As ocbroncomaniac has pointed out, this was essentially a vote of confidence in himself and his team, because it behooved him to trade away the pick that would end up being later in the first round, meaning he should trade away the pick of whichever team he thought would finish with the best record. He got a lot of flack for trading our pick away, but clearly he chose well.

Boy did he get flack
I was so impressed that he said to the world not only did I get rid of Cutler WE WILL BE BETTER THAN THE BEARS!
Then he told Woody Paige, i have never had a losing season EVER.
I would hope you would support who we are. Not, who we are not. Coach Norman Dale "Hoosiers"

I know anything can happen… but I see 5 losses in there… if they play well they should beat St. Louis and Detroit, giving them 6 wins for the season… I guess GB is a possibility, but the way they are playing, I don’t see it.
Is a 6 or 7 win season usually good for a top 10?

Top 10
The bills were 7-9 last year and drafted 11. However, since the bears are playing an easy schedule, they are likely to draft higher than other 7-9 teams with tougher schedules.

BOLD,BOLD,BOLD
The trade was bold, made by our bold young coach. According to msm that move was the cherry on top of what was supposed to be our disasterous season. After all we were going to be 3-13 and we traded that top 5 pick to seattle. What the hell is this young coach thinking? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.I have to admit, the fact that the bears stink and that J.C. is struggling just tickles me pink. Another thing i must admit is that after Jay has games like last night I stroll on over to the Bears web sight. I never post, just read( the curiosity gets the best of me). Last night was pure entertainment. I’ve never read so many f bombs being dropped on a thread in my life. HAHAHAHAHA. Go BRONCOS!

who, not where
The Bears are in a tie with SF @ 13th-14th (worst) right now and their closing schedule is daunting, so the real question is whether there’s a prospect that we covet who will be available around that range. I honestly can’t say that there is.
Considering the depth of this draft, it may make sense to trade our 1st round pick. The 2nd round looks deep, and it would be advantageous if we could trade our 1st for picks in the 2nd round.
At this point, it appears that we’re in the enviable position of having a draft that suits our needs (strong in DE34 types). Moreover, our situation is also fluid enough to be able to take the BPA without regret over failing to address a need.
It’s going to be interesting to see whether a new CBA is agreed upon. The prospect of a rookie salary cap could produce a flood of underclassmen come January 15, and this is another reason that having more 2nd round picks could be preferable to having a high-ish 1st round pick.
no goats, no glory.

How about 4-12? You think it's not possible?
Oh it’s possible. Watch out for Detroit at the end of the year. They will be a much better team. They have already taken small steps.
