“I don’t mind playing on Thanksgiving,” Mara said. “My complaint is sending us all the way to Denver on a short week.”
hope you step in some Mr. Mara.

I agree with him
It’s a big disadvantage for the G-Men, having to fly across 2 time zones and head to the higher altitude with only 3 days between games. I’ve mentioned so before here on Tracks, and I think the Broncos will win because of it. Yes, they’re on a short week also, but they’re hosting the Dolts and don’t have to travel at all. The Giants will be gasping for air earlier than most teams that come to Denver.

He’s not making fun of Denver. He’s complaining about the time change and the altitude. That’s all.

Today's game worries me
It shouldn’t, but it does.
Washington showed up, sorta, against the Falcons last week — and I just get the feeling that all the ’Skins bashing has finally gotten to them enough that they try for a statement win.
Incidentally, maybe we should look at Paulescu? I mean, if we don’t like Colquitt, and now that Kern is unavailable (he hasn’t lost a game yet this season, in fact!)

I hear you, Jeff
There’s such an overwhelming amount of negativity once again, just like before the season started. It’s hard to stay positive in that setting…
You look at the Skins’ defensive numbers and the scores of their games and you start to worry. But they’ll be without two of their 3 serious offensive weapons (CP and Cooley), leaving only Santana Moss. I’m not concerned by Ladell Betts. The Broncos (I think) can just focus on shutting down Moss and they’re good on defense.
The other big thing to focus on is Washington’s poor run defense…

Steve Mariucci
just now on NFLN: “I do see the Chargers overtaking the Broncos. I see these as two teams going in the opposite directions.” Ah shaddup coach. Hope he’s proven wrong, as soon as today!

Didn't SD lose to both Baltimore and Pittsburgh, too?
And didn’t we beat SD in SD?
Well. Then it’s obvious: SD is the team to beat!

Win with an incomplete game....
In hostile territory, against a very solid pass defense, we will have to work for and earn this win! I believe our D can win this game for us by themselves… :O
I’m so glad Smith got in Brandon’s ear this summer. That has been one of the most important unsung efforts that got us to 6-2.
A proud prognostication of 10-6 in 2009!!! (April 2009 prediction)
Revised to 12-4 due to reality!

Oh and my theory about Berger?
I think McDaniels wanted him because not only was Kern struggling but Berger was a veteran and I think McD, being a young coach, wanted at least one area where he wouldn’t have to worry or “coach” too much. Young coaches often like having some experienced players around them, like they did with the vets they brought in on defense. Now unlike Berger those defensive vets have been very productive. So whatever his experience and ability, Berger, I believe, will be a goner if he’s bad again today.

A Steelers friend of mine said the reason they let him go was his abilities have dwindled with age.
He does look slow to me getting the ball off and a good rush may set up some blocks that could be devastating. I hope he straightens up today.

I like the Paulescu idea Todd. He did pretty well last week in the Atlanta game. Anyone signed up for the DPP ought to bag on Krieger for that idiotic story title. That’s not right at all. Shannon Sharpe just said the Broncos need to throw the deep ball on NFL Today.
GO BRONCOS!
