Ryan Harris Out Against Steelers
Broncos HC Josh McDaniels informed the media during his Monday media gathering that RT Ryan Harris will not play against the Steelers next Monday night. McDaniels did not have an official prognosis on Harris, only to say "he will not play Monday".
Harris reportedly injured two toes on this right foot during the Broncos 30-7 loss to Baltimore. Harris was able to walk off the field but was later carted back to the locker room.
Tyler Polumbus filled in for Harris and will likely start in his place against Pittsburgh.

Thanks John
That really hurts. We sure could use him against Pitt. Oline must play better than they did yesterday.

Ugh
Bad news. Not quite as bad as if they’d lose Clady, but still pretty crucial. Polumbus is going to have to pick up his game and they’re going to need to give him some help imho, with an extra tight end or blocking back. Anyway, hopefully he won’t be out long…

With this news I’d like to take time to introduce Orton to his new best friend, Lamarr Woodley.

Our backup should be able to handle the DE (Eason or Hood) that replaces Smith.

Show us what you got Tyler!
This is a great opportunity to see what Polumbus has with a full week working 1st team. I think we’ll be fine. It wasn’t Tyler that sucked vs Baltimore…it was the collective O-line that stunk it up.

Ouch
Those damn toe injuries usually linger. Time to rest up and let Tyler get some experience. The last time Denver had a former CU player at tackle it worked out pretty well.

Graham is like a third tackel, so he'll be avaialble to help.
Not ideal, but workable. Pit is so talented from the outside, I wouldn’t be suprised if we played Hochstien @ TE on max-protect passing situations either.

the Denver Post.
They say it’ll be up to 3 weeks for Harris but are hoping it could be sooner than that. Will just take it a week at a time. I have faith in Polumbus.

any word on what the actual injury is?
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.

You should know better. That is not the way McDaniels does things with injury reports.

I don't know if you can get clearer
than “suffered two dislocated toes on his right foot Sunday” as it says in the article. Seems pretty upfront to me. ;-) Anyway, there’s your answer KB.

Yeah, but maybe he had an insider or something.
I know all we are gonna see is “lower extremity injury”. lol. Typical McD.

they can only say that kind of thing during the preseason
once the regualr season starts different injury announcement rules kick in. As dashiell pointed out above, they have recently reported a more clear and accurate “two dislocated toes” to the NFL. Not all injuries will report that accurately, and some will be even more accurate. It just depends on what the injury is.

DP says
two dislocated toes.
We can only hope they weren’t “open” dislocations (like KO’s)!

This is a big loss. We’d been pretty lucky on the injury front up to the game in Baltimore.
That game really sucked yesterday.

It was a pretty good game up until the opening of the second half.
After that we got out coached plain and simple.

Get better Harris.
I have faith that Polumbus will do just fine. It will be a tough game and his chance to step up.

I thought Polumbus played well last week
I am not too worried, people seem to forget, that Polumbus and Harris were neck and neck at the begining of last year and Harris eventually won out. I think Polumbus will do fine, I hope Harris gets well quickly, but I don’t expect a major drop off in production.
