Is Anybody There? We will win on Sunday - here's why
First, because we will be desperate. Second, because we match-up well with San Diego and because we are a more physical team. I feel our strength - secondary, neutralizes their strength - their long passing game and I think their running game is a joke. However, there is a much better reason.
I had been searching for a sign, a sign from the gods that we will win. A sign that Chris Simms has it in him, that we will step up at this critical point in the season and emerge as the team to beat in the AFC West. And then, in my drunken state at 2:00 a.m., early on a Saturday Morning, my fiance made me watch an odd movie called "Is Anybody There?"
1) Right now, we as broncos fans are thinking "Is anybody there?" Is anybody watching over our fantasy season as our qb goes down and our team seems down and ready to lose. Is anybody there? God? McD? Nolan? somebody? Anybody? We feel panicked, unsure, uncertain and worried that 6-0 will turn into just another crushing Mile High Meltdown.
2) The kid in the movie looks exactly like Chris Simms.
3) The movie is about Chris Simms dealing with the loss of someone close to him, grasping concepts nobody thinks he is capable of grasping, calling a guy who looks like LT a "wankerer" and discovering the meaning of life, death and the afterlife with the help of Michael Cane. Michael Cane = McD, obviously.
My head is scared, but my heart is at peace. I just feel that we are a tougher and better-coached team and that, with an entire week of prep-time, McD will have the troops rallied and ready to win a key game. I think Chris Simms is going to kill it on Sunday and I think we will win easily. Maybe it's just me, but I BELIEVE, broncos country, I BELIEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Funny....
I thought the Chargers would win the Week 6 games because they were desperate.

Great point.
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.

indeed
But I don’t think they were feeling the desperation until we beat them. Then they woke up. Kudos to them for that. But this is still a division up for grabs if we lose tomorrow.

If history serves
Simms might actually play well, since he has a tendency to be consistently inconsistent. So, since he played badly against Washington, will he give us a typical Simms-onian performance by actually playing well against SD?
Our D and ST will have to step up because they have regressed in recent weeks.

That's the funny part...
The media and even us here on this site were saying that exact thing about the Chargers week 6. I hope that we can have a role reversal here and go on a win streak after this week, I mean starting with this week. As a fan I would much rather win the late season games than the early season games, and actually I’d much rather win them all…

Every game matters, so that is why the same points have been brought up each week saying that "this is an important game in the season".

I thought that too for awhile
that this game would BE our season.
But honestly, upon reflection, I don’t think this loss would be that huge for us. There is still a lot of football left to play. I’m not so much concerned about SD as I am about our prognosis over the long term for the rest of the season. I want to see us bounce back and be physical again — SD is the right challenge at the right time to tell us where we are. But they aren’t going to walk away with the division by winning at Invesco, either. We will still be right there with them.
The Bolts could have thrown their hands up when we beat them in their hometown. They didn’t. You’re not defeated until the math says you are. We have a lot of football left to play. Let’s remember that, win or lose.

yes, but...
if orton is out, the giants game is going to be very difficult for us, and the chargers have KC in SD next week.
8-3 (on a 6 game win streak) ahead of 6-5 (on a 5 game losing streak) would not be easy to come back from.

i guess that
it’s not the games, but the timing of it that worries me…

no denying that
Excellent points, bailey. Guess I just feel that in a season where we’re playing on house money anyway, to a certain extent, there is room to believe that this team may have a few more surprised in them this year. I hope that’s true. Not sure. But I hope. ^^

We can either be 8-3 in 5 days or 7-4 or 6-5.
I sure would hate to be 6-5 at 9:30 PM MT Thursday night. I need at least one if not both of these games. Take It!!

agreed
6-5 does not sound good. that would also mean that the chargers would be at east 7-4 at that point if not 8-3 (after all, they play KC after us).
I do not want to be 2 games back in 8days.

6-5
Sorry. Been up on the Broncos all year, but I’m not confident with a new QB in week 10.
One tackle on the next to last play of a half can cost the Broncos three wins. That’s the NFL for you.
