Why so nervous??
Seeing a lot of nervousness in the posts this week. Just want to remind everyone that, even if we were to lose tomorrow, there is still a lot of football left to play. I’m not so much concerned about SD as I am about our prognosis over the long term for the rest of the season. I want to see us bounce back and be physical again — SD is the right challenge at the right time to tell us where we are. But they aren’t going to walk away with the division by winning at our place tomorrow, either. We will still be right there challenging them.
Obviously, things will be much better for us if we win. Not only would we have another leg up on the division, we would reassert ourselves as a physical presence, which is what we need if we hope to make a late season run.
In a season when they began by underperforming their expectations, the Bolts could have thrown their hands up when we beat them in their hometown. They didn’t. Kudos to them for that. Because you’re not defeated until the math says you are.
In a season where we began by overperforming expectations, we are still in a good position to reassert ourselves in the coming weeks, regardless of tomorrow's outcome. Things would be different had we lost in SD. But we didn't, which makes things very interesting.
So celebrate a win tomorrow, but don't jump in front of a bus if we lose. We have a lot of football left to play. Let’s remember that.

I definitely think we're still in it...
but I will say that if orton is out for both SD and NYG, we may have trouble with those games.
That said, even if we end up 6-5 after those two, we are still have a great chance to make a solid run at the playoffs because the only other really tough game on our schedule is Indy.
However, i would love to beat the chargers in the divisional race (because I really dislike that rivers character…) and that will become very difficult to do if we are 6-5 and they are 8-3 eight days from now (they have KC after us).

Excellent points, bailey. Guess I just feel that in a season where we’re playing on house money anyway, to a certain extent, there is room to believe that this team may have a few more surprises in them this year. I hope that’s true. Not sure. But I hope. Because imho, if there’s one thing this team needs to fuse into its personality, it’s competitive relentlessness down the stretch.

loved your post by the way
Anyone who hasn’t should check out bailey’s thought provoking post about the implications of this game and whether it is worth risking Kyle to further injury to secure a win. Consider me swayed, bd. Excellent fodder for discussion. Highly rec’d, and good to have you here!

thanks Montana
just trying to keep up with everyone here.
As for the team, I’m sure they have some surprises. I can’t explain why, but I actually have a really good feeling about the colts game in a few weeks… dkn, we’ll see.

Good post MT, keeping folks grounded...no need to stick your finger in a socket or anything.
"Wait, let me explain something to you...I'm the Dude. So, that's what you call me. You know, that, or 'His Dudeness,' or 'Duder,' or 'El Duderino,' if you're not into the whole brevity thing."
yeah, no fried fans please. ^^ thx, duderino.

The conditions for the game should be fair with light wind.
A thunderous roar from the crowd sets the tone. Trash mouthing won’t be alluded this game either and that will be their dooooooooom! The kickoff brings the fans to their feet and when the sit back down 3 fans in powder blue and yeller jerseys get escorted to the med staion with bloodied noses. Champs chomping at the bit…“throw it my way, trow it my way”, as BDawk is screaming at the top of his lungs, "Take It, Take It…You want It? Take! Then all of a sudden #8 raises his helmet up and says, "Hut…Hut Hut…Hut… and the place comes apart at the seams….Me nervous? Nah, we can beat these chumps.
Well were are obviously still in it if we lose,
however it will not be easy. I mean we will have to lose one less game than SD and beat them in a tie-breaker and I don’t like relying on tie-breakers. Also we have NYG 4 days later and that game would be better with a win tomorrow.
I hope our offense shows up regardless of who are QB is and our defense needs to bring it in the second half. I am waiting for a statement game to say we are still here.
