that he should or shouldn’t have held the ball out. I don’t know how much of that is instinct or whatever. I don’t know how easily you can train yourself to not go for the endzone when it’s 6 inches away from you, so I can’t stand on a pedestal and talk trash about the guy doing what he did. That said, if Hochstein’s legs don’t kick up, that’s a TD and you aren’t sitting around super butthurt about it. I saw that as way more of bad luck than a rookie mistake.

How much is that Ref in the window
Lots of questionable calls — Clady’s hold wasn’t, Moss was pulled off sides by the guard shifting in his stance, and that ball was across the goal line. About the only thing they got right was the int, and if had been Champ they would have called him out.
At least Orton is back in and playing great. There is still some hope here.

But I have to believe that there is something there that works with Simms. He did have flashes of looking great in the preseason. Of course, it wasn’t “regular game speed”, but the potential seems to be there.

If Orton is good enough to come in when he did, why did he not start? I hate to question McD, but that doesn’t make much sense to me.

He seems to be moving pretty good though.
And that’s my point. If you aren’t going to start him because you are worried about him getting hurt worse, then why bring him in now? I agree Simms is terrible, but if Orton wasn’t good enough to start, he shouldn’t be in now. My point is, he should have started the game and taken the risk then. Not after we’re down 13-0.
