neither here nor their

I know, I know, this is  neither here nor their BUT,  what if, and this is a big what if, we HAD done this in the 2009 nfl draft. With pick no 12. the broncos select B. Orapko out of Texas. With the no. 18 pick the Broncos select B. Wells from Ohio St. And the biggest differense maker of all. Trading our 1st round pick in 2010 for somebody who can actually make a difference R. Maualuga out of USC. Several things inspired me to write this starting with watching Knowshon fumble the football for the fourth time this year. Im definitley thinking he wasnt worthy of the no 12 pick. My biggest concern is trading one of our no 1 picks for A. Smith. The A. Smith that is so good we had to drop another one of our young corners (J.Williams) for a 35 year old (has been) nickel corner T. Law. Ecspecially considering the Bengals drafted Ray(the beast) Maualuga with the next pick. We all see how thats turning out for the Bengals. I wont even bring up the R. Quinn pick seeing how I havent heard his name called all year except for an off the field transgression. I know its neither here nor their but if we'd actually made these our top 3 picks then we could surley label J. McDaniels a genius. Unfortunately we didnt.

what happens if 3 years from now

Ayers is a our woodley and knowshown keeps progressing as he has into one of the best backs in the league while smith comes into his own. I know you want immediate impact but it usually takes rookies a while to “get it.” Its way too early to judge our picks. & btw, moreno averaged 8 yards per carry. I trust our coaching staff.

"Pleased? We are excited about the proposition of going forward from where we are right now. Pleased? I don't know if you want to say pleased. You may want to hang your hat on pleased. I don't want to hang my hat on nothing right now."

-Brian Dawkins, on the play of the defense

Once he gets his hands on you, there's not much you're going to do. Then you can't outrun him, you can't run around him, you can't really run him over -- so you've just got to deal with it."

Really

You can’t expect a perfect draft anyway.

perfect

KK is what I said above what you would consider a perfect draft. 90% of the people concerned about our draft thought Oropko and Maualuga should have been our picks. That said it wouldnt be a stretch to think we could have had a perfect draft.

3 years

Man I hope your right. Moreno will be good but we could have got that talent in the third round. As far as the other guys, Ayers, Smith, Quinn, Mcbath and Bruton the jury is still out. WAY OUT. Their all playing special teams and well we all know how special they are right. Youve watched the last 5 games what am I saying.

that statement about moreno is definately not true.

look at moreno in pass protection and as a receiver out of the backfield. he is a much more complete back than you would ever have found in round 3.

also, moreno is a very good runner. he rarely gets tackled for a loss (I think the broncos are actually, or at least recently were, leading the league in fewest times stopped behind the line as a team).

Moreno also has broken a couple of runs for big gains both today, against SD and in WAS.

All in all, I would say Moreno is performing very well as a rookie who has basically been thrust into a starting role from the beginning.

and btw, Ayers has looked pretty good the last few games

at least from what I’ve seen.

They’ve started using him very regularly on passing downs and he does a good job of getting pressure on opposing QB’s. I don’t know why he was inactive today. that move puzzled me, but I don’t think it is a negative comment on his play in recent weeks. something else must be going on.

too soon to say

and moreno has played well (especially lately) other than the fumbles.

many great backs have had that problem early on and been able to solve it and be extremely successful.

I still like the draft class and think we’ll be okay. I do wonder why Ayers wasn’t active for the game today. he looked good when he was in the past few weeks.

Chill, it is WAAAY too early

When Texans picked Mario Williams with #1 pick ahead of Vince Young and Reggie Bush, they were derided. After one year, Mario was nowhere near as good as 2 others. But look now. They seems smart as both R Bush and VY did not show being worthy of #1 and Mario progressed nicely. Too early to judge the draft after 10 games.

Moreno did not fumble in college

This was one of the reasons I was excited about him – he NEVER fumbled in college. Now, obviously NFL is a different matter. But I hope he just needs to adjust.

The draft was in the best interests of the team...check it out.

Next year we will have some grizzled veterans and who knows where we’ll be.
