All is Not Lost
Did you have a rough night? I sure did.
The chargers came into Denver and beat us, loosening our grip of the AFC West crown.
It isn't completely out of our grasp, though.
On one hand, it looks dismal because we are now one game behind in the division and will likely lose every meaningful tiebreaker with SD. This means we are essentially 2 games back with 6 to go.
However, remember that interesting tidbit about teams that beat us versus teams that lose to us?
Cincy lost to us, they lead the division. NE lost to us, they lead the division. SD lost to us a few weeks ago, they lead the division. Dallas lost to us and they lead the division.
On the flipside, the redskins beat us and they just lost to the cowboys. The steelers beat us, they have lost two straight and have fallen to 6-4, as well. The ravens have lost 2 of 3 since beating us.
Perhaps, since the chargers beat us this week, they will suffer similar fates of the skins, steelers and ravens.
Not to mention the psyche of our team. Denver is a group of extremely agitated players. They are frustrated and tired of losing. There is nothing they want more than a win.
They need to play as a team and they can right the ship. We need to take our frustration on the field, not in the form of penalties, but in the form of aggression and strength. Let's eliminate mistakes, hold on to the ball and put some points on the board.
I have all the confidence in the world that the broncos can still make the playoffs and a win on thanksgiving day will be just what this team needs going into december.
We saw how much emotion can play into a game when we went into Baltimore and they played with heart and guts. If the broncos show similar drive, there isn't a team in the NFL that can beat them.

Thanks for staying positive.
I believe it can be turned around we just need to eliminate the mistakes we have been making that have been killing us. We have already had a successful season and this losing streak will surely end soon. A win can change a lot.

Hey man, I feel ya.
There isn’t anything broke with this team that can’t be fixed. I hadn’t made the connection concerning the fate of opponents we had lost to vs. opponents we have beaten. That’s some strange & powerful mojo at work there! Happy Thanksgiving, KB, & may all your turkeys be wild.

Always look on the bright side of life....
But I appreicate the optimism. The coaches all need to be taking a serious look at what happened today and put in some serious work on Tuesday and Wednesday. In particular, the team needs some new schemes on defense. I don’t buy “tired” for yesterday – they were getting riddled in the first half.
The good news is that the Giants can be had. They broke their win streak, but it took OT against a .500 team. They’re not the 2007 Patriots.

Agreed. I don't buy "tired" either.
Everyone on the team seems to be in some kind of a mental funk. There have been really bad penalties that set us back, missed assignments, etc. It has to stop. I’m hoping that all of this frustration and emotion can be harnessed and utilized into something positive.
BDawk is the king of using emotion to play better. Hopefully the injury isn’t too serious and hopefully he and McD can get the rest of the broncos to buy into playing as a unit and slaying the giants on thursday.
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.

By your logic...
We are winning the games we’re not supposed to win and losing the games we’re not supposed to lose. I think that’s a recipe for disaster. That means you play to the level of your competition, which indicts the coaching, and effort of the players.

I wasn't implying that we play to the level of our competition.
It’s just a wierd little nuance of our schedule, so far. It seems like after playing the broncos, teams either take a dramatic rise or a dramatic fall. Maybe since SD beat us, they can start their dramatic fall.
I do think we played well in the first 6 weeks and then the team got full of themselves and started to play as individuals. The bye week gave us some time to reflect about “how good we were” and that was the absolute worse thing that we could have done.
Now, we can see that the broncos aren’t all that talented. So, we need to go back to what got us to 6-0. Namely, playing as a team of selfless players instead of undisciplined individuals.
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.

Is it too early to start a 13-4 group?

Only possible if
They make the playoffs, win their first game, but don’t advance. I think they can do it!
And with the 32nd pick in the 2009 NHL draft, the Red Wings select: Someone other than Ryan O'Reilly. LOL@Detoilet.
