2009 Thanksgiving Day Open Thread
We'll have all the discussion threads for the Broncos game tonight, but until then, use this one-stop-shop for all the early game action, including the Raiders who take on the Cowboys in Dallas at 4:15 et.
Enjoy the food, but remember, triptophan makes you sleepy, so don't be napping when the Broncos kick-off at around 8:20PM et.

surprised Rodgers only took the one shot downfield
running for 2 or three yards is all well and good, but if you plan to convert 5 third downs every drive you’re going to struggle

TRYPTOPHAN
It is found in turkey at a level typical of poultry in general.16
Actually, you would get more in caribou and only slightly less in pork. I’ve heard the "turkey is high in tryptophan story before but the drowsiness may have more to do with the third piece of pumpkin pie you just ate along with numerous helpings of turkey. Gorging will make drowsy.
BTW — tryptophan is good for you.

My grandmother and great-grandmother used to prepare for days in advance. The meal included turkey (of course) along with goose, turkey-duck and everything else you can imagine. Needless to say, most of us ate more than usual on that day.

I have GB for my DST in the MHR keeper league
So, I am pretty happy with the 2 sacks and 3 ints. The big lead should create some more opportunities for the GD Defense as Detroit starts getting desparate.
I also have Stafford backing up Brady, I picked him up during Brady’s bye week.
I agree, Larsen shouldn’t get any bigger. I am getting tired of his bone crushing hits knocking the pixels off my TV, once they fall to the floor they are very hard to find.

no problem. Just go to this website and scroll down to where it shows the broncos game. It should be ready about game time. If that doesn't work, I'm sure someone will find another link.
Don’t worry if that link doesn’t work, now, because it shouldn’t. Whoever does that stream will open it up closer to game time.

That article lost me after it used this quote by Ryan Clark.
"Honestly, my thought on that is, I would like to petition Mr. (Roger) Goodell and say, if a coach can talk to me like that, I should be able to fight him. I don’t know where he’s from, but where I’m from, when somebody talks to you like that, they’ve got a problem with you. And we should be able to fight.
Really? Saying “we own you” means that you should be allowed, with permission give by the commish, to “fight him”. Why should fighting be allowed by Goodell, under any circumstance, and why is Ryan Clark even commenting on the situation? He is a steeler. He wasn’t involved in the SD/Denver game where this situation occurred.
I’m sorry, but that article just makes me cringe. McD hasn’t commented on it, so I don’t even know what kind of credibility it has or what context it was under. Maybe the charger players said something to McD to provoke him into that response. I’m sure it didn’t come out of left field and I am sure that people are making way too big of a deal out of this.
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.
by kentuckybronco on Nov 26, 2009 4:39 PM MST up reply actions 0 recs
Here's the other quote from Clark.
"If a player talks that way, you get to hit him. When a coach talks that way, you don’t really get to strike back. Who wants to have verbal jabs with a coach? That’s no fun. Let’s fight."
I don’t even know how to respond to that. He openly stated that he hits players who trash talk him and would like to hit a coach. Nobody is upset about that? Goodell needs to have a talk with Clark, IMO.
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.
