With Some Good Luck
…and a smidge of hard work, maybe we can even get 2 Broncos into the hall this year out of Sharpe, Davis, and Little.
That would be fantastic!

Nah
That would only be 3.5/4 …nowhere near the number Buffalo, KC, San Diego, Oakland, and Dallas have. All franchises <= 50 years old. We can’t stop complaining until we hit 6 or so, just my opinion :)

TD belongs in the Hall!
But I’m afraid that, years into the future, we will be talking about him the way we now talk about Little. It’s a crime, but I’m afraid that’s how it’s going to go.
But Sharpe and Little better get in this year!

Sharpe has the best odds
TD deserves it except for how his career got cut too short to make it more of a slam dunk. Sharpe I’d give about a 75% chance this time out. Terrell about 40% and Little about in the same boat, alas.
There's no need to fear, Underdog is here! / Broncos fan in Niners/Raiders country, and damned proud of it.

Nice.
Good luck to them.

Good to hear.
I hope the committee uses their brain and puts Sharpe in this year.

I don't understand
why some of the players that made the list are favored. Why is Aeneas Williams listed along side Emmett, Jerry, and Sharpe. I love TD, he should be in the hall, but E. Smith, Rice, and Sharpe are the only clear cut HOF players in this class. Carter was good, not dominate, Tim Brown has good stats, but he was the only threat on the Raiders for a lot of years. I don’t think that means he is HOF worthy.

Carter & Brown
Carter is considered by many (including myself ) to be the 2nd best receiver of all time. He ranks 3rd in catches, 7th in yards, and 4th in touchdowns. His hands were amazing.
Tim Brown excelled at receiver and at returner. He lead the league in KR yardage in 1988, PR yardage in 1994, and receptions in 1997. Not many players can claim something like that.
Both are fantastic and add to an absolutely amazingly strong class at the top this year. If any of those guys get left off it’s because the committee really wanted a defensive player in, and there are several deserving guys from that group. 4 of these candidates rank in the top 7 all-time for sacks, like Kevin Greene with 160.

Thank you
Do you think Carter or Brown should get in over Sharpe this year? I think Sharpe is one of the three or four best tight ends of the modern era.
I agree that Carter had amazing hands, I never really felt like he was dominate when I watched (a very small sampling). I don’t disagree that he shouldn’t be in the HOF, but not at the expense of Sharpe.
Now with Tim Brown it is hard for me to get over the bias of him being a Raider, but I have seen more games of his. Too much of the time he seemed to be underperforming for his talents. There were times during his career, not just with Rice, that he didn’t seem to be the best reciever on his team. I think of him as a equivelant in a lot of ways to Rod Smith. . .not sure that that is a fair assessment of either though.
I’m sure that the selection committee will struggle to have an all offensive class, minus Dick Lebeau. Alot of the defense players, and in fact offense, just seemed to be very good players. I want only the best of the best in the HOF, and it seems like we look at alot of the players and only look at their stats. Kevin Greene had a couple of fantastic years, but he never awed me. Dumervil will probably stack up a lot of stacks, but I don’t look at him as a future HOFer. Reggie White was dominate across the board, you had to gameplan around him in the run game and the pass game. That to me is what a true HOF player should be. That is why I think Floyd Little should be in, you had to game plan around him.

All Good Points
I think an argument can be made for Carter over Sharpe, but it’s a tough call. Sharpe should be in over Brown, but not by much. In my opinion, Brown, Carter, Sharpe, and Andre Reed are all bunched together, and only 2 of them will probably make it this year.
I don’t remember Greene except for the tail end of his career, but he did have 160 sacks and his stats even surprise me, with 8 seasons of 12+ sacks: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/G/GreeKe00.htm
And I totally agree on Floyd, which is why we are campaigning for him: http://www.milehighreport.com/2009/11/27/1174818/the-mhr-denver-broncos-hall-of (if you didn’t already see it :) )

TD?
I love TD as much as any fan, but he doesn’t even belong in the conversation for the Hall. No matter how good they are, three fantastic seasons is not anything close to a HoF resume. It’s not the Hall of Might Have Been. I mean, Priest Holmes had a few dominating seasons too, but if a Chiefs fan claimed he had anything approaching a HoF career I’d laugh in his face.

A 2,000 yard rushing season
League MVP and Super Bowl MVP shows that he made an impact in his era. That is one qualification considered by the voters.
