The Hochuli Effect Still in Effect?
After watching the Broncos-Giants game a second time, it seems to me that the we are still paying for Hochuli's bad call last year. In particular, Daniel Graham seems to have been singled out. Granted the Broncos have been their own worst enemy at times and have been called for a excessive number of well-deserved penalties, but over the past 2 games, Denver has been called for 17 penalties compared to 5 for the Dolts and G-Men. I'm just sayin...

That may or may not be true.
But I can see that the Neil and Bob show is alive and well in the Houston-Indy game.
That may be, but at the same time, it's unfair to question that.
I’m sure that every team will get bad calls against them. I think that there is definitely something to calls against teams such as Dallas, NE or Pittsburgh. However, I don’t think that the refs are calling against us, on purpose, just because of last season’s Hochuli call.
If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.
Daniel Graham had 2 holding calls in the Giants game.
Both on running plays and the runner was already past the blocking point. Graham blocked well on both plays but, he flung the defender to the ground which was uncalled for. He knows better than that and 2 great runs were called back because of it. In fact he directly negated Moreno’s 100 yd day by those holds. I did like the fact that after his first hold McD came right back to Graham with a screen to the right side for a nice gain. Graham is a great player and that has been our achilles heel fro the last 5 weeks. Making those dumb little mistakes that are costly.

Seems to me
That’s the way he’s always played (“finishing” blocks by throwing guys to the ground) which is why most everyone loves his blocking so much. He’s got that nasty streak that’s required to be one of the best blockers, at any position, in the League.
Sucks he got called (nobody loves that) for those things though, for sure- esp. on that first one. Jay (below) is right- the defender should’ve been called for illegal hands to the face.
It also seems to me that Doom gets held more egregiously than either one of those plays, on just about every play of his, but those aren’t called. I wonder- does Doom get the shaft that way, because he’s short? It seems to me that the refs allow more of “de bidness” (turning, grabbing, yanking) when it’s short Doom, then they would if it was 6’ 8" Mario.
Is that just me?

I watched the replay of the first "hold".
The defender had a hold of Graham by the face. What should a guy do under those circumstances, let him break his neck?
Didn't agree with the false start on Wiegmann.
I’ve seen centers move their heads up and down more than he did, and the refs let it slide. Or how about when Orton was calling an audible and they were called for false start?
frustrating
when it seems ticky tack junk is called on denver, yet a late hit low on the qb is missed.
i dont want bad calls in denver’s favor, i want consistency.
"I just looked across the huddle to see the guys in the huddle with me: great offensive line, great talent at wide receiver, great tight ends, great running backs. If we execute and play the way that we should, it should be tough to stop us."

wouldn't that be nice
i haven’t liked some of the calls the past couple of games… not sure it’s a retrubution for hochuli thing… but the refs haven’t been great to the broncos recently.

and the brady rule
definitely should have been called on merriman… or does that only apply to brady? and usually only when he asks the refs for it…

I agree, there are so many times that you can see Doom fighting to come around the edge but the guard has his hand up in his face mask or around his shoulder and haven’t seen one holding call. Also the false start on Clady wasn’t a false start, he didn’t flinch but was looking over at the center and how many times do you see other teams doing that and not seeing a false start called. It was really weak.
agreed
that call in particular stood out to me
