TSlice Tales: Average NFL Attendance, Denver in Top 5
While sitting at home on a boring Tuesday i decided to figure out the average NFL attendance for each team in the 2009 season so far. After doing it I realized someone out there probably already figured it out and I just wasted my time but its okay I was bored remember. Sure enough on ESPN.com there was one and not to my surprise Denver was in the top 5. Here is the link Average NFL Attendance 2009 Season .
via www.everyjoe.com
A couple things I want to point out.
1. Not all teams have played the same amount of home games thus far. Every team has either played 3 or 4 home game. Denver has played 3.
2. Denver has the leagues 5th best attendance average and 2nd best behind the Jets in the AFC. Denver is averaging 75,460 fans per game. One day I will be one of them.
3. As for our AFC West foes, Kansas City is 13th in the league averaging 69,739 fans per game. San Diego is a low 20th in the league at 67,435 per game. And last but always least the team in my backyard Oakland is 31st in the league only above Jacksonville with a whopping 49,134 per game. And my family always wonders why they are always blacked out. Its good to be king of the West.
Also take in note that some teams stadiums fit more than most. Dallas is number one on the list considering there stadium holds like a million people. But interesting fact they are losing more and more fans each home game. Their last home games attendance was 80,866 which isn't far from the 76,440 that showed up in Denver this year at one home game against you know who, Dallas!!
I expect a sellout Monday Night against Pittsburgh and I want it to be so loud there so my subwoofer wakes the neighbors!!
Adios me amigos!!

i could have told SD's
attendance sucks. They have played 4 home games and only 1 was sold out before the blackout deadline. (hint: that team in 6-1). The games against the Ravens and Raiders were sold just before the 1 pm PST time on the friday prior to the game and the dolphin game needed an extension. The fan base here is fickle and it has only gotten worse. At least when these clowns (SD) do win I dont have to hear them honking their horns. I guess when their defense makes Jamarcus the Hutt look like a decent QB, they know their team is in trouble. (BTW when people here think the SD pass rush is back based of a decent showing against the faders and chefs , we all know they are toast)
somethings wrong, Trying to conquer these fears i thought were gone. And it's been so long, I'm dying to live in a world i don't belong

Another way to look at it might be by %
i.e.
1. Denver = 99.1% of stadium capacity
2. Dallas = 91.3% of stadium capacity
3. etc.
.
.
32. Oakland = 00.02% of stadium capacity

Arrowhead probably won't sell out
There are already rumblings that the last 2 home games at Arrowhead this year may be blacked out. The Chiefs always sell out for the Broncos and used to be packed week after week … but since pro football left town (oops!) there are a lot of empty seats.
