Try to Not Laugh (The Disappointment of a Loss)
(/bshrout shakes his head) My percentage is holding steady this week. I went 8-5 this week, which makes me 59-39 (60%) overall. I was surprised by a few of the results.
Looking back at Week 8: Who knew that St. Louis would upset Detroit at home? Raise your hand if you expected Philadelphia to destroy the Giants. I never would have expected Vince Young to rally Tennessee to a win the way he did (even if the formula had predicted it). Nor would I have expected the schizophrenic Panthers to beat the Cards. So far as our game goes, I had stated in other places that I could see the game going either way -- though, I must admit, I expected it to be more in the nature of a defensive struggle with whichever team had the ball last winning. I did not anticipate our O-line getting so thoroughly dismantled. It seemed like every run had a defender hitting the running back in the backfield, and every throw was made either with a defender hanging on Orton, or Orton rolling out for his life. But that's neither here nor there since we still have 9 weeks left.
Now, on to Week 9 Predictions:
Bye: Buf, Min, NYJ, Oak, SL, Cle
Washington 0 @ Atlanta 23
Miami 14 @ New England 40
Kansas City 3 @ Jacksonville 14
Houston 24 @ Indianapolis 47
Baltimore 22 @ Cincinnati 25
Green Bay 34 @ Tampa Bay 0
Arizona 12 @ Chicago 20
Carolina 6 @ New Orleans 55
Detroit 0 @ Seattle 9
Tennessee 0 @ San Francisco 15
San Diego 23 @ NY Giants 22
Dallas 24 @ Philadelphia 41
Pittsburgh 19 @ Denver 31
A couple of places where I disagree with the results generated by the formula: I could see Kansas City taking the game away from Jacksonville, Houston surprising Indianapolis, Baltimore dropping Cincinnati, and Detroit upsetting Seattle. I also think the Pittsburgh game will be another dog fight, but I believe we have a good chance of coming out on top of that one.
Now we'll see how it goes. :)
13-3 Until We Ain't!!!!!!

In those four games, I picked Det, Phi, Ten, and Ari. My picks went 9-4. Also missed on Den and Buf.
You deserve a great call award
my average stunk this week. LOL

do I "really" believe SD over NYG?
Well . . .
The formula came up with a 1 point Chargers’ win.
I see New York as being hungry to turn their season around, but I also see them as being a vulnerable team that hasn’t played with tremendous consistency. Personally (formula aside) I could see this game going either way, but I do believe that SD has the edge right now.
