Good and Bad

Glad to see Barrett and Bruton back. Should help on TE coverages.

Bad news re Harris (who is not expected back for weeks) and McBean

Must be a pretty serious problem with Hillis’ family. I doubt we’ll see much of him Monday since he did not get in much practice this week.

We probably won’t see Ryan Clark due to his sickle cell issue.

with McBean out

do we see Baker for the first time, with Marcus Thomas filling in at the DE, or do they activate Moss? I think we see Baker spelling at nose tackle a bit and Thomas/Holliday/Reid being the rotational ends, depending on situation (run/pass). I don’t think we can expect Moss to basically take the place of Le Kevin Smith with Smith taking the role of McBean. Thoughts?

LeKevin

Word is that LeKevin Smith will get his first start. As you know he has been injured much of the year so I am looking forward to seeing him.

For sure

This guy might come out and play like a beast to prove himself to the team.

Hillis? "Not injury related'?

So what did I miss? Anyone know why Hillis isn’t in any practices? I had expected big things from him this year, and am pretty disappointed—and mystified—so far.

It is a personal matter

don’t read anything in to it.

I hope he comes back strong!

It seems like, based on his break out performance last year, Hillis could be contributing a lot more than he is in the power running—i.e. short yardage—game and on special teams tackles. It looks like there is some reason—maybe he isn’t better than the other talant we brought in since last year?—he hasn’t been the best option much of this year. The coach seemed high on him early in the year, and not so much anymore….
