Isn't funny how the Broncos dominated the game from the 2nd qtr on,
except on offense. It seemed like McD was afraid to get into a shootout not trusting our defense. The D did a hell of a job. Our OLine was beat all day.
yeah, and the hillis record is skipping... skipping... skipping
but it would be nice to know why he gets 1 carry when Buck is out and knowmo is nicked and hesitating.

the run offense was horrible,
but overall, they moved the ball well with the pass. they just didnt make the critical plays. actually looked a lot like 2008 broncs, moved ball well, couldnt finish drives.

Losing Larsen on the opening kick off obviously...
…had an impact in short yardage…they pretty much abandoned any two back sets.

He was the only one that was playing on offense. Orton was okay and Buck started out good but got hurt. Nobody else showed up. There was definitely some questionable playcalling too.

Colts come out screaming,
manning hangs 2 quick tds on the d and it looks like a blowout is in the works.
Dawkins gets a pick off a deflection by reid, and the final 2 min sees 3 poss. changes, but no points. offense starts roling in the second, and marshall is looking epic. orton is making some nice passes, and moreno looks really hesitant, as the colts seal the gaps and dom. the line.
second half, the defense is firing on all cylinders and forces 2 int’s and multiple punts. the offense has many opportunities, but fails to convert on any of them, save for 3 pts. prater missed a 42 yd fg.
colts get the one opp they need, and win.

I am confident in the future.
There were flashes of excellence today for Denver. Inconsistent? Yes. Mistakes? OMG. The biggest issue was not capitalizing on opportunities. This will get better next year. I really don’t get the lack of Hillis on short yardage 3rd downs, but McD may have seen more than us. In the end, most would agree that that game was in the L column from the beginning of the season. All I have to say is, they are who we thought they were, and we let them off the hook.

The way I see it
is that we wil overtake both of those teams in the next two years. We are almost there. So either way now or then. It is exciting to talk about our future.
Better than having to talk about the past, like the chargers,
chiefs, raiders, bears, pats, etc.

Right
one ting we can count on is that Denver as an organization at least tries to contend year in and out. Always in the hunt. Unlike the Faiders, Chefs, Bears, Lions, Texans, Dolphins. I am sure I missed a team. I would kill myself if I was a fan of those teams.
Broncos left at least 16 points on the field.
There were times when they looked pretty good, especially on D. McD needs to take the training wheels off of the O. Hillis must have schtoinked Josh’s sister, or something. After Buck went down, and KnoMo looked like he was in slow-mo, he still refused to run the redneck.
I don't get it, either.
He could use Hillis as a short-pass threat, or a runner, but give teh guy the ball in short situations.

moreno over hillis, hillis has been completely removed from the offense and if we could pass to the flat give him some room on a screen or something. moreno does well and getting up field quickly for medium gains and hillis is good at getting extra yards

Speaking of penalties, there were 3 BIG ones
either non-calls or BS calls that helped decide that INDY game. Non-call on PI. How can a defender get away with TACKLING a receiver BEFORE the ball gets to him? The BS “helmet off then on for a second” call was asinine. Let them play the damn game.

I think the Broncos set themselves up for success when their January trip to Indy rolls around. I’m starting to feel a little better about that game. I mean we went on the road to play the NFL’s best team (probably) and gave them a game. We even overcame a 21-0 defecit to make it a close game. I think that game bodes well for this Broncos team. There’s some kinks to work out for sure….but we can do it.

So…looking at the AFC playoff picture. I think the Broncos need to win out to be assured a WC spot. Miami and Baltimore both have very soft remaining schedules (neither has a team over .500 left on their schedule). I know Baltimore has the tie breaker over us…Miami I’m not sure about. I think JAX is in trouble with Indy and NE still on the schedule.
