This Game Is Positive
I thought it was a great game overall, regardless of the loss. Nobody has beaten the Colts this year and we were just a few of plays away from beating them today. Marshall had a great game, he has proven he deserves to be payed. The defense played pretty good. Any day you can get Peyton Manning to throw 3 interceptions you should be pleased.
If a team that was supposed to win 3 games this season can stay with in 12 points of the Colts than we fans should be pleased. If somebody asked me if the broncos had a chance to beat the 12-0 Colts I would have laughed it off. This team has come a long way and nobody should be upset with the loss and instead look at the positives. If Buckhalter had been able to play the entire game I tend to think the results would be flipped. The Broncos would have converted some of those 4th downs and probaly scored a little more, so assuming he is not out for a long time the Broncos have a chance to beat anybody they play. We are still in the play-off race, also and if San Deigo loses the Broncos have a great shot at the division. I think this LOSS to a great team shows how good the Broncos are better than any blow out win against a mediocre team could. Anyway, just be positive.

Same here.
I was a little frustrated during the games, but I think that, overall, I’m mostly positive. In the broad scheme of things, this loss wasn’t too bad. We weren’t destroyed, by any means, and this is a good team we played today.

I was angry during the game but as i reflected after the game I realized how good of a game it was, especially against the colts who usaully beat us by 30 plus points.

Yeah, we dominated most of the game,
We just couldn’t cash in on any of the opportunities we had. There is a lot to criticize here, but overall I think we played well and I love that we didn’t throw in the towel down 21-0 early on.
I think this is a team that we could definitely beat if our o line plays better in the playoffs.
All Day Nickel
Nolan’s 4DL,2LB,5DB took time to gel, hence the 21 points but once it got in gear watch-out! Other teams will learn LOTS from this game film. Indy may not get out of their first round.
broncorat
I also like that that they didn’t give up on the game after the game was 21-0. They could have given in on alot of games this year like cinncy, dallas, new england. That says something about this team and I like it

Agreed
Not only that, but put themselves into position to win it. The offense crapped out in the red zone too often. You just can’t do that against a team like the Colts.
Overall, tho, this team has taken HUGE steps this year and is going int he right direction. It looks like week 1 will be at New England. I like the our chances there.
Now where did that Kool-Aid vendor go?
Agreed, but
I think the main reason I was frustrated/Angry about this game is that we had every chance to win it and we just couldn’t get it done. Whether penalties or the play calling were to blame we just seemed to shoot ourselves in the foot every time we came close to taking over.
Definitely a good game after the 1st quarter though. Lots of promise for this team down the road.

Denver won 2 quarters, one was drawn and Indy won the first....
We are a good team and both coaches and players will learn a lot form this game!

We did well; I agree with you
The Colts are an elite level football team. Top 3 level we’re talking about here. It would be foolish to get too upset about this performance against them. The two touchdown lead was too tough to overcome, but we were excellent in the second half.
Learn from this to become an even better team, and crush the faders, queefs, and iggles to get into the playoffs!

eh relatively positive
I thought our defense eventually stepped up and gave our offense a chance to win this game. 6-17 on third downs, 0-3 on fourth downs, and having more than triple the amount of your opponents yards lost to penalties is a good way to lose. We played them pretty close but if we can’t execute better than this I don’t see us being able to do much in the playoffs.
omg...now im gonna sound like a koolaider
i am way proud of the team…and the coaches…and the owner…and us
jedi and the coaches could have just given up and said…oh well…not our day…but they kept trying to find a way
the team kept trying…omg…how brave was orton…and marshall…and super k…and the defense…and the whole team…they never gave up
im proud of the colts…cuz if we are gonna play the best…and be measured…and get a chance to find out how far we came from loosing 3 straight pre-season games…and they are wayyyyyyyyy good (its kinda scary how good they are…and that the saints might be lots better)
and im proud of the fans…sure we were totally not happy at loosing…and we care lots…and some of us wanted to cry…but we are gonna hold our head high…and be totally proud of the broncos…and everyone who are true fans
bronco…and PROUD of it

Like the lady who Marshall threw the TD ball to. That was awesome.
Things like that make me want a player like that to retire a Bronco. (<—Period)

And hey...

Charles Darwin. (The Origin Of Species)
That was bad football we watched today. Sloppy, poor execution, horrible play calling, penalties and mistakes galore.
I’m proud the Broncos didn’t quit when they got way down (the 2007 & 2008 teams would’ve lost by 40+ points), but that was not a very good effort from Manning and Indy. That Indy team is one decent (non-Manning lover) ref and a bad bounce from losing to at least 10 NFL teams.
It was a bad NFL game.
This is my favorite website.
Give credit
You gotta give credit to the D, tho, McG. Flushing Manning out of the pocket and making him uncomfortable in general is not what he’s used to .

Well said.
Sometimes it’s difficult to keep things in perspective during a game when the emotion is high, but this team has really taken positive steps forward.
Just looking at this single season, we have actually beaten the Chargers IN San Diego and regardless of the home loss that is something we haven’t accomplished in a while. On top of that, as was pointed out, this team was generally predicted to go anywhere from 3-13to 5-11 so we are well ahead of schedule.
But more importantly, this is only the first year is having McDaniels at the reigns. Obviously he is going to have some growing pains, like anyone first year coach no fortunate enough to have Peyton Manning as a quarterback.
A lot of people harped on the play calling today, which is hilarious because most people agreed that in order to have any chance of winning we needed to have a strong running game to keep Peyton off the field. Well, McDaniels called plays he thought would get the running game going and the offensive line simply caved to Colts defensive line. No running back should hot in the backfield as many times as Moreno did today. It was shoddy play by our line and I really think Wiegmann’s play has taken a step down this season. I’m not even going to delve into the Peyton Hillis nonsense.
But yes, many positives can be gleamed from this game.
If our defense plays like it did for most of the second half, we have a very legitimate chance of finishing our season 3-0 and getting that 5th seed in the wild card. I know that the superbowl is the only real accomplishment in the NFL, but just getting to the playoffs would be a very welcome advancement for this franchise; especially when you consider just how many first year Broncos this team is composed of. We are very “slapped together” and we are still managing to win a good amount of games. We are one win away from matching our best win total since 2005. Positive steps.
Anyway, enough rambling. Go Broncos.

Good post Grey.....my biffest problem was lack of adjustments in the running game when Laresn went out, and then sticking with it when it was not working.

enh...
maybe it was just me, but I thought we were about one foot away from winning the game. If Dumervil had gotten Peyton on third down there, we would have gotten the ball back, and I’m pretty sure we would have won the game in that case. Instead, they got a really low-percentage first down and a few plays later the game was over.
I agree, tunesmith.
That was a major turning point. He actually did get to Manning but just after the ball left his hand.
If this be Hell, let us make the most of it!

...and short
Had to listen on the radio yesterday. Our 3rd and 4th and short offense baffles me. I’d really like to see different play calling in that situation. I believe we could have picked up more with passes. That’s how we were moving the ball all day so I saw no reason to change. It seems like we keep trying to jam the ball in and fail far more often than we succeed.
I thought it was a great rebound by the team in general though. If we would have spotted the Colts 21 points last year we would have lost 45 to 3. This team has guts. Just need to start capitalizing and executing a bit more.

I am loving this year, but...
I CANNOT WAIT until next year! I am really excited to see what Coach McDaniels, the Staff and Xanders has in the works to lay a londstanding groundwork for playoff excellence. The next decade looks to be an exciting ride with ALL hands on deck and pulling towards a Super BGowl victory every year!
