Horse Tracks 12/14/09 - Broncos fall 2 games behind Chargers; Marshall sets single-game catch mark in loss to Colts

Horse_tracks_new_logo_medium

Good Morning, MHR Friends. Well, the first 20 minutes yesterday were pretty rough. The day was marred by plenty of mistakes and missed chances on the Broncos' side of the ledger, but they sure did hang tough when it would've been quite easy to lose by 40+. I'm sure most of you had flashbacks to those playoff debacles of years past (I know I did). The decision to defer the opening kickoff was bizarre, to say the least; both the Broncos' offen have been shaky on opening possessions (if not 1st quarters in their entirety) all year long, so I was quite puzzled. No, it's clearly not why they lost; there were plenty of opportunities later on, and the Broncos were in it late. But it was a strange decision which I immediately disliked. Well, apparently Orton and BMarsh have gotten used to each other; remarkable performance from Brandon. Unfortunately, Kyle still can't seem to connect with Eddie Royal. Hopefully Buck isn't too banged up, although we're fortunate to have Jokeland heading to town next week.

DPP - Colts clip Broncos 28-16 in Indy - Mike Klis
"McDaniels' research had shown that the team that kicks off at the start usually has the final possession of the first half, and then gets the ball again to start the second half." This is a strange explanation. Why is the goal to gather momentum at halftime? We're talking about Peyton Manning here, and a Broncos defense that has struggled early in many games, especially against quality teams...

DPP - Short yardage, big problem - Lindsay Jones
"The Broncos converted only 1-of-6 opportunities on third or fourth down when they needed fewer than 3 yards. They converted only 6-of-17 third downs overall. The Broncos also were stopped three times on fourth down, including twice on fourth-and-1."

DPP - Briefs: D.J. positive part of defense's soft first-half effort
"Running back Correll Buckhalter and starting safety Renaldo Hill were on crutches after the game because of injuries to their right ankles, and rookie safety Darcel McBath — who had replaced Hill in the second half — had his right arm in a sling after injuring his shoulder late in the fourth quarter."
"A charged-up Reid briefly took his helmet off to celebrate, then quickly jammed it back on. "That's a prime example of things we can't do," Reid said. "We could have got three points out of that drive."" Yeah, that was a big one. UGH.

This is a terrific story, and that sure is one lucky Broncos fan.

Thanks Doug..

Rarely agree with Clayton but he is spot on here. When we male the play offs we might do some damage. We just got to get there!

Just sayin...

Kyle Orton: 13games, 63% Completion, 2900 yards, 16 TD’s to 8 Int’s, 89% QB Rating.
While he’s not Payton (Manning, not Hillis, haha), I continue to feel very comfortable each week with Kyle as our starting QB beyond this year. Would it be blasphemous to say that we got the better end of the trade even if it was ‘straight up?’ Just sayin…

Jay gets his head right, he will be dangerous

If JC manages to get his head fixed, he will be awesome. Man, look at what our other offseason troublemaker, BMarsh, did yesterday. Cutler is capable of same caliber feats. Trouble is, by the time he does get his head screwed on straight, he will have helped his team to a few top 10 draft picks – and we will have been to playoffs a few times instead of him. After that – well, that’s where the “time value of money” kicks in. You trade a 1st rounder next year for a 2nd rounder this year because a pick in the future is not as valuable as one now. Likewise, hypothetical JC success 3-5 years down the road is worth little if properly discounted. Heck, you could probably draft a similar quality QB again with all high picks he will guarantee.

agreed

IF Cutler figures it out. What I like is that Orton learning under McD gives us a shot each week. Additionally, KO can solidify the qb position for a few years enabeling us to focus on other positions where we need improvement and/or depth. Teams that struggle usually have uncertainty at the qb position (that may be the obvious statement of the day…).

nice.

Love the music, too. I always knew when he throws off that back foot it was going to have a chance to be picked…but the vid shows that he gets picked pretty equally of the front as well.

Not such a good football game yesterday

That was a bad football game yesterday. Sloppy from both teams, several quarters of flat football by each side, poor officiating and poor coaching. Other than for some individual excellence from guys like Marshall, Dallas Clark, McBath, the Colts LBs and Orton, most guys did not play their best ball.

Brandon Marshall is going to be a very rich man this offseason. I don’t think Denver will be able to franchise him because a mid to late 1st and 3rd round pick would be an acceptable price to pay for a Top 5 WR. I think several teams would try to sign him as a franchise tagged player. Eddie Royal’s play has fallen off a high cliff so retaining Marshall will be priority #1 for our offense. Hello payday.

Orton is also going to be pretty expensive. More so than Cassel because Kyle is simply a much better QB. Good problems to have, but bad for Bowlen’s wallet. I must re-iterate that we won’t be big FA players this offseason. It will be all out giving expensive and deserved new deals to our best players.

McBath looks great. The Dallas Cowboy’s had the pick after us in round 2 and when we took McBath, Dallas immediately traded down. Dallas had safety as a top draft priority and being that they probably got a lot of looks at McBath in college (he went to Texas Tech); the Cowboys may have been targeting Darcel. Good drafting there McDaniels. It helps make up for your whiff on Alphonso Smith.

DJ Williams was a monster yesterday. He looked like he was trying to hurt a few of the Colts. I loved it.

Darrell Reid is starting to sound like a broken record when it comes to his boneheaded plays. I’m so glad Reid admitted he did something stupid yet again. Now try not doing something stupid for a change Darrell. We’re done with your excuses pal.

I rather enjoy McDaniel’s sideline hissy fits, but he should yell at himself in a mirror after the game yesterday. McDaniels was the worst Bronco on Sunday – a play calling debacle. Dude, your short yardage running game is broken, has been all season (even against the mediocre D’s like Dallas and Oakland). Please, for the love of God, stop running between the tackles on 3rd or 4th and short. It’s not happening, it hasn’t been happening all year. We suck at it. We don’t have the O-line or RB for it. Stop being an arrogant idiot and give your team a chance. I said last week that Kizsla was a fool for claiming McDaniels was the Coach of the year over the Cadwell or Payton. Kizsla looks pretty stupid today, which is usual for him. McDaniels has done well in his rookie season and his coaching future is bright, but if he gets even one vote for Coach of the year, that voter needs to have his voting privileges revoked.

For all of you that said Orakpo was going to be an NFL bust, he got his 11th sack of the season yesterday. That guy is going to be an NFL star.

Marshall

I’m interested to see what Brandon Marshall will get this offseason. I think McDaniels will lock him up. What did Randy Moss get last year? I would imagine that’ll be McDaniels’ foundation.

"I intend to kick your ass today." - Denver Broncos legend Tom Jackson

by wtnelson on Dec 14, 2009 8:33 AM MST up reply actions

I agree and disagree

No more running between the tackles on short yardage plays! I like Moreno but he’s proven at a ratio of about 20 to 1 that he cannot pick up the short yards. For the love of god put Hillis in for the short yards! Or play-action! Or a toss. Or anything but the same stupid pull the guard every freakin’ time.

But I don’t agree about Kyle getting paid more than Cassel. Cassel is stuck in a crappy system with a head coach that would rather scream at his players than play to win. I mean seriously, a fake punt on your own 25. That was one of the stupidest coaching decisions I’ve seen all year, and it completely changed that game.

I, for one, still can’t get behind Orten as our QB. He is an excellent and accurate short yardage QB that is smart, but that’s it. He’s got to be hands-down the most unathletic QB in the league. When a 300 pound defensive linemen can run you down from behind, you need to start working on them legs, man. Seriously.

I’ve never seen a more immobile QB in my life. He can’t throw on the run to save his life. If a guy touches him on the shoulder he falls to the ground like a leaf. And his accuracy only applies to passes under 15 yards. Anything beyond that and it’s a crap shoot, and it takes the ball ten seconds to get there.

The worst thing, he absolutely cannot convert in the redzone. Against the Chiefs he had 3 turnovers, two of them because he moves like a tree rooted to the ground and an int in the redzone. And he had another redzone int yesterday.

If it wasn’t for the broncos awesome defense this team would be 2 and 10 behind the arm of Kyle I-will-only-throw-to-the-underneath-receiver Orten. B Marsh had 21 receptions with an average of less than 10 yards per play. Proof and point.

You can’t win a super bowl in this league with a QB that only has five different passes in his repertoire and can’t make a big play to save his life. And even when there are big plays it’s more luck or a great play by the receiver than it is anything to do with Orten.

Did you see that article about Russel calling out his teammates saying that they need to step it up?

The guy is just in the NFL for the money. He has no skills to read a defense or even read his own receivers breaks. It is embarrassing to watch him play football.

Definitely.

You could definitely tell a difference when Grad went down. Like you said, they were winning. JR just submarines this team. They have competent to good receivers, but without a QB to accurately read the defense and deliver the ball, the talent is wasted. JR certainly is the reason for their ineptness. While Grad isn’t an amazing QB, he is definitely better than the vastly overpaid Russel.

If Taylor Swift were to try and tackle me, I'd let her.

good, because Kyle ORTON is the Broncos QB.
i get it that he doesnt look smooth in the pocket and is no Vick outside of it, but the hyperbole and misstatement of Kyle’s play is ludicrous. have an opinion on a player, but try and be accurate. laughable.

Fried...you are way off base on Orton...

Marshall has more yards per play with Orton than Cutler. Orton was 2/4 in red zone, and threw a pick. Blame lies at play calling by McD, not Orton.
Did you miss the first half of Redskins game? 3 bombs perfectly thrown…one dropped by Royal as he was bumped at LOS and slowed down.
We can win a super bowl with Orton…..much more than with Cutler.
Orton brought us back yesterday my friend, if you did not see that you are daft……he proved he can bring teams back.
Not sure what you are looking for in a QB, but I will take Ortn over 95% of the QB’s out there.
He is as athletic as Brees, Manning, Brady, Warner…..and his awareness in pocket is improving. If anything, he kept MANY plays alive yesterday with that awareness.
Just dont see where you are coming from my man….kinda reeks of missing guys like Jay and Elway….this is a different team (thank God) and Orton is the perfect fit!

Don't forget his ankle injury

While he is never going to be the most mobile quarterback, he is also clearly being hindered by his ankle injury. On the broadcast yesterday, the announcers said his ankle would not fully healed by the end of the season. Earlier this year, he was sliding around in the pocket pretty well. I think the injury is definitely leaving him less mobile than normal.

A team is more than its QB, and it is also the sum of its parts. Kyle Orton has proven this season that he is a PLUS when adding up the individual parts that equal our team.

Kyle Orton (and I’ve never been his biggest fan) is easily one of the biggest positive surprises of the 2009 season.

I would have to say that you didnt even see any of tthe games you are talking about .

Against the Chiefs on one of the strips he avoided the initial rush by scrambling out of it just like he did against Freeney but Clady couldnt hold the block and the defender hit Ortons arm from behind . Yesterday Clady holds the block after the scramble and Orton delivers a strike to Marshall.

We are having trouble in the redzone because Josh keeps thinking he has some huge hogs on that frontline and wants to just smash it in . When we should be doing more of what we did against the Giants which was deception .

As for big FA signings...

I think that era is long gone for this team (thank god), regardless of what current players need to be signed. I would much rather have a few key vets like Buckhaulter, Dawkins, Goody, Hill, Gaffney, etc., than one Fat Albert. Taking risks on big-name FAs killed this team in the post Super bown era.

by ButteBronco on Dec 14, 2009 10:12 AM MST up reply actions

That is why I said it’s a good problem to have.

But I want Bronco fans to know the days of signing a Dawkins, Goodman, Buck, Hill, Davis, Powell, and Gaffney in one offseason are long LONG gone. We’ll need to improve via the draft and internal player development for the next few years. I don’t know about you, but from what I’ve seen with the regression of guys like Royal, Hillis and to a lesser extent, Clady and Scheff. It’s not a given. From our mixed bag 2009 NFL draft, it’s not a given there either. The future is sort of bright, but it’s not high beems from heaven.

Man

One year, and an incomplete year, is never enough time to judge draft picks. Ever. Especially on the lines.

Smith might be a bust, but he isn’t right now. He hasn’t even played a single full season in the NFL.

Orakpo might be a star, or he might be Mike Croel. You remember him, I’m sure…or maybe you don’t, because he disappeared after one good season.

I know everyone wants the draft to produce instant coffee. But it almost never does.

by Remember Keith Kartz! on Dec 14, 2009 11:44 AM MST up reply actions

13 games is a pretty big sample size to start drawing conclusions. Thus far, one guy clearly plays the part and the other clearly doesn’t.

Vernon Gholston is a BUST. Doesn’t take three years to know this, in fact, it didn’t take more than one.

I’m not saying we should cut Alphonso Smith, but we also should not proceed as if he will be our starting CB in the near future. The guy is getting his behind handed to him every week.

This is my favorite website.

by McGeorge on Dec 14, 2009 1:03 PM MST up reply actions

Agreed - particularly on McDaniels

I like McDaniels. I like the team he has constructed, and I am happy to have him as our coach going forward. With that being said, this loss is on him. The offensive play-calling was just so very very bad. Your defense forces 3 turnover (plus a multitude of 3 and outs) throughout the end of the first half and most of the second half… PLUS – you have one of the best performances by a receiver in the history of football… and the offense still finds a way to squander all those opportunities and only manages 16 points? Why keep running it up the gut? Why couldn’t he figure out a way to get the ball to Royal, Gaffney, Stokley, Scheffler, and/or Graham with Marshall doing so much? It was so frustrating to watch, especially from an offensive guru. I know he is young, and I’m sure he will get better. But that game was on him.

by outdoor_miner on Dec 14, 2009 12:02 PM MST up reply actions

It looks like a lack of creativity.

The play calling looks the same. I think he is playing it really close to the vest for the post season…?

A lot to be encouraged about

I think we have a real shot to go deep in the postseason, but we do need to throw it in short yardage situations.

Personally, I have no problem with deferring. If Belichick or Payton or Dungy or Shanahan or Gruden or Holmgren do it, nobody bats an eye, even if it’s against Peyton Manning. McDaniels can do it too. You either get the ball now or later. What difference does it make?

All in all, I came away encouraged. If DJ Williams isn’t a Pro Bowler this year, it will be a shame. The guy is all over the place every week.

Perplexing, to say the least.

I love McD’s confidence in his players, but when you consider the limitations of this offense, and the quality of the opposing offense, giving away the possibility of never having to play from behind doesn’t make an ounce of sense to me. You take the chance of amping up the pressure on your offense, changing your play calling flexibility, and allowing the opposing defense to tee-off and play to its strengths. Its a testament to the heart and soul of Denver’s defense that Denver didn’t absolutely get hammered yesterday, and it did Orton and Crew no favors to constantly play from behind. Maybe they would have had to anyway, but why not use every strategic opportunity to your advantage. I can think of a lot of other players to try to make a ‘statement’ against, but Manning isn’t one of them.

You guys are kidding, right?

Saving it for the post-season? You gotta get to the post-season first and you don’t save anything for games against the Chargers or Colts or anybody else that determines whether you get to the dance and what seeding you have at said dance. And go deep in the playoffs? First, you’ve got to get there and what have you seen the Broncos do this year against top flight teams playing well, at home, that would lead you to believe that they’ll prevail in the wild card round, never mind beyond that? I really like this team and as I’m a fan, I’ll keep cheering them on, but reality says they still have a ways to go.

Larson's injury kept Hillis out of the tailback position yesterday.

Losing Spencer is a huge loss. I hope he can come back, because Knowshon is wearing down and we need someone to share carries down the stretch. I hope it’s Buck, but would much rather see Hillis than Jordan.

I don't think I said anything about that

I just think that the team has a shot, with some gameplan adjustments, to go deep in the postseason. We’ve beaten SD and NE. I think yesterday showed that we can beat IND.

Playcalling

I was scratching my head a good bit yesterday, too. But I’ll be far more persuaded by complaints about play calling when I start to hear the choir complain about terrible play calls bailed out by awesome execution. You know: “How dare he call a run there! Fortunately, Clady pancaked his man, got into the second level, and sprung Buck for 35. He should have called a short slant instead.”

Individual excellence absolutely bailed out some terrible coaching yesterday.

It’s happened the other as well other times this season when McDaniels won the games with coaching, but McDaniels got an F for his coaching yesterday. He was part awful, stubborn, angry and dumb.

Very nice story regarding Marshall's TD ball.

After doing pretty well this season with regards to not getting too emotionally attached to the outcomes of the games, I fell off the wagon yesterday. I absolutely loathe losing to the Colts, and I’m sure much of that has to do with their perennial domination of the Broncos.

So it was very cool to see Brandon do such a nice thing for that fan on her birthday. Great reinforcement of what is good in the midst of a disappointing defeat. Kudos to the Colts fan as well. Judging by the interaction with a few of them on MHR last week, and this guys good deed yesterday, I can say that they are right up their as classy fans.

As for the game, in retrospect, I’m going to choose to focus on the great job the defense did against Manning and Co. Woodyard got taken to school by Clark, but for those guys to frustrate Manning like they did after the first quarter is a sign of good things to come on that side of the ball. Too bad the offense, outside of Marshall, couldn’t take advantage.

I’m supremely confident that McDs playcalling, the defenses early game play, and the offenses issues on short yardage/goal line will all be vastly improved by this time next season. Consequently, I expect to see fewer games like yesterday where one phase seems to fall apart while another is playing out of their minds.

Oh, and thanks as always for getting this together, Doug. Much appreciated.

I felt like Dennis Green yesterday...

All I could think after the game was, “they are who we thought they were, and we let ’em off the hook”. One could certainly question the play calling and the decision to defer on the coin toss, but I feel the most important factors in the loss were short yardage and the screen game.

Short yardage has been a problem all year, and I don’t care who is running the ball, if the back is getting hit right after he gets the ball, it’s not going to work. The bottom line is, teams regularly blow up the center of our line. It’s gotten a little better once Hamilton was replaced, but the interior line was absolutely terrible yesterday in those situations. Sure, you could say that we should run outside or throw more in short yardage, but those plays are low percentage. In order to be a successful short yardage team, you need to be able to line up and run the ball up the middle consistently. This personnel grouping cannot, and I do not see an answer this year.

Indy did a great job of defending the screen yesterday. The ten or so screen plays McDanials calls each week are absolutely essential to the success of the offense. They often result in huge chunks of yards and are the type of plays that dig the team out of down and distance difficulties or provide the big play spark that a successful drive needs. If you have to drive down the entire field in four and five yard chunks, odds are the drives will sputter out at some point. Indy’s D wasn’t going to give up big passing plays, so the offense needed a few big runs or successful screens to sustain drives (especially in the first half). Indy’s keen awareness of the importance of our screen game and their ability to take it away was a huge factor. Kudos to them.

“This personnel grouping cannot, and I do not see an answer this year”

There is an answer this year. It’s to throw or run outside. Those are not low % plays when you compare them the the very low % play of running between the tackles.

Know thyself. We CAN’T run between the tackles in short yardage. SO DON’T TRY.

In resonse to you and Jenna regarding short yardage...

I think you’re right, but I would like to see some statistics on short yardage relating to running between the tackles, passing, and running outside. I would like to see these statistics for the Broncos in 2009 (how bad are we, really?) and league wide stats (what other teams are struggling, how do they get around it). My gut feeling is that even though we suck at running up the middle, it’s still probably the best thing we can do based on the percentages. I realize that you can’t always be ruled by “the percentages”, but sometimes you have to play them and our first year HC obviously likes to analyze things in this manner.

I’m pretty busy this morning, but I’m going to try to dig up some stats this afternoon.

by ButteBronco on Dec 14, 2009 10:34 AM MST up reply actions

I'm guessing that you'll find that 90%...

…of Denver’s rushing yards this year have come on plays designed to go between the tackles. Denver’s primary backs, with a little help, have the ability to bounce outside— which often happens— but most of the time the primary first read is between the tackles.

Wasn’t it just a short week ago that KM turned one of these hopeless calls into an 18 yard TD? Maybe Indy deserves a little credit for winning up front.

The Chefs are horrible – and we can run all day at a mega bust like Glenn Dorsey.

But the Raiders, Cowboys and Colts are mediocre to good Ds. We can’t run in short yardage on good to medicore defenses. Run all day long at a scrub like Dorsey, but we need to try something different when the guys across the ball are better than our below average interior O-line (Hoch and Weigmann).

by McGeorge on Dec 14, 2009 10:47 AM MST up reply actions

I agree that they have line problems...

…but they couldn’t even bounce ‘em against Indy, which makes trying to test the edges futile, too. They basically had no answer for Indy’s team speed on D. I think yesterday’s problem had more to do with execution than play calling, is all.

Of course it's the execution.. It's the expected poor execution of terrible play calling.

The players were put into a position to fail by poor play calling. Of course the execution was poor. It’s poor because our guys are not good enough along to the O-line successfully implement the play calls. They have not been all season. It’s not like yesterday was the first time we didn’t execute in short yardage running. It’s a season long pattern.

Where is Biff to hit McFly, I’m McDaniels, on the head and say… Hello…

Our short yardage running game is broken, has been all year, it’s not being fixed this season. Call SOMETHING ELSE for plays.

by McGeorge on Dec 14, 2009 11:39 AM MST up reply actions

The point being...

…that if you’re getting killed because you can’t handle the other teams speed, do you decide to outrun them to the edges? Running at Indy is the only way to beat them. Do you abandon at least the threat of trying to run so that Freeney and Mathis can just start teeing off all day?

For the better part of this season, Moreno and Buck have averaged better than 4.0 a clip mostly running inside plays— which makes the idea that they can’t run inside nonsensical. They’ve struggled at times, but the idea that they have a history of futility there doesn’t pass either the eye test or the statistical test.

They got out executed by a better team yesterday. Had they just started dropping back and forcing throws, or gone to losing 3 yards a play trying to run outside, the same lot of you that are complaining about the horrible run game would probably be just as bitter about Kyle Orton getting sacked 6 times and all the negative run plays.

Sometimes the other team is better.

We CANNOT run inside on short yardage situations, which you KNOW are not the same as running inside on any old down. Don’t compare apples to oranges.

We got out executed because we had a stupid game plan and stupid play calling. Seeing Moreno fail miserably on the two point conversion was about as shocking as seeing Simms fail at passing the ball.

Don’t worry about other teams in the NFL. Trust your eyes and what they’ve seen in 2009. Our shortage yardage running game between the tackles stinks something awful and for several reasons (poor interior O-line, poor RB play, poor play calling). It is not something we can fix this season since so much is wrong.

So my response is to try SOMETHING, ANYTHING different.

I dissagree

To be a successful short yardage team you must be able to create misdirection. Runs up the middle fail more often then not.

I know there is a HUGE belief that good teams can gain a yard and bad teams cannot. I have always believed that good teams are willing and able to not just run it up the gut, but instead do something different while bad teams always just try to ram it up the gut.

it never cease to amaze me the ignorant of those who make up things just so they can hate a particular player (in this case it’s Orton). Hey Fried, go back and watch the games that Orton play with the Bears last year before his injury. In the game against the Vikings, Orton had 7 long passes over 20 yards and he thrown them with such accuracy that the announcer Tim Ryan was raving about Orton having a laser cannon for an arm. Orton was 3/7 with the long passes in that game but should have been 6/7 because Marty Booker dropped 4 of those passes when they hit him in HIS HANDS.

Tim Ryan also rave about the ability of Oton to throw a “feathery touch” pass that drop right on top of his receivers like a sinker and they shows footage of Orton throwing this kind of passes during the 2008 game against Tampa Bay.

Stop making up things about a player that you hate and learn to at least spell his name properly.

Contracts and Cap

As some of us look to the future, McGeorge has rightly pointed to some factors, particularly new contracts for Doom and BMarsh, that will make the Broncos lesser spenders in the future.

I was curious about where some of the dead money may be coming from, so I looked it up.

2009 Cap Figures:

Dre Bly — $4.55MM
Tom Nalen — $4.11MM
Ben Hamilton — $3.81MM
Patrick Ramsey (yes, you’re reading this right) — $3.77MM
John Lynch — $2.5MM
Montrae Holland — $2.5MM
Travis Henry — $2.3MM

That’s at least $20 million in dead cap money that will be coming off the books shortly. There’s an additional $10 million-plus on the way from Keary Colbert, Niko Koutovides, John Elgelberger and many, many others. And if you look ahead to 2011, Champ’s $12 million figure will be coming off the books.

I’m sure we’ll see escalations in the cap figures for DJ and a lot of rookie contracts take the place of some of this. But that’s a massive amount of dead money that will be coming off the books.

by Chibronx on Dec 14, 2009 2:02 PM MST reply actions

$20MM. That will be gone in a blink of an eye when we resign Marshall and Elvis. Those guys are both $10MM per year players. Add in Kuper and Orton and you are though the dead cap money before the end of this sentence.

This is my favorite website.

by McGeorge on Dec 14, 2009 4:35 PM MST up reply actions

At $10MM per year, the Broncos can have Doom or BMarsh, but not both. There might be an NFL team with 2 guys with $10 million salaries out there, but if you throw in Champ, the Broncos will have 3. It’s not the Patriot way, and it’s not the Xanders way.

I’d rather keep Doom.

Opening Kickoff

I am sure I am the 500th person to mention this, but while I understand McD’s reasoning for the decision, sometimes you can be a slave to statistics and percentages.

As was mentioned, when you’re facing a team like Indy, get the ball first, get down the field and score.

Because I am not sure about the exact odds of Peyton Manning scoring on HIS first posession, but I have to guess they’re pretty high.

Don't argue with fools. It's how they reproduce.
