"Denver coach Josh McDaniels said fullback, linebacker and special-teams ace Spencer Larsen is expected to be fine after leaving Sunday's game against the Colts after the opening kickoff with what the Broncos called a back injury. . . . Running back Correll Buckhalter and safety Renaldo Hill likely will be questionable for Sunday's home game against Oakland. Each player sprained his right ankle."

He gives honest, full answers...McDaniels added Larsen should be fit to go at fullback this week against the Raiders and, with Correll Buckhalter likely out with an injured right ankle, Hillis would get an increased role as a tailback this week."

Thanks Doug!
Those that cant coach, compete!
Failing to plan is planning to fail.
All I want is 53 Rod Smiths. Is that asking too much????

wow that mailbag is full of really dumb fans
A truth can only be expressed and enveloped in words if it is one-sided. Everything that is thought and expressed in words is one-sided, only half the truth; it all lacks totality, completeness, unity.
No kiddin'
I especially like the guy who was saying “McDaniels ruined the team”

Yeah "Hire Mike Nolan as head coach"
Nice one. He’s a great DC. Not so much a great head coach. Thank god these people aren’t affiliated with the team, sheesh. (Was glad to see the Peyton Hillis stuff addressed there though.)

Vernon Fox
Was Calvin Lowery unavailable. What about Herna-daze Jones or whatever his name was???
I kid I kid. Just when McBath was showing why we drafted him in rd. 2. But someone was right one when they pointed out better a broken arm than a torn knee.

Yah at least he'll be totally fine for next season
And he looks like a real keeper. And at least they drafted some other good young DBs, too. Fox will be okay on special teams at least, alongside new ST beast David Bruton!

-Measure your performance against your best competitors and consider how you can use it to beat them the next time!
-Your concious mind can only hold one thought at a time, positive or negative. Which is it going to be???
Dave Krieger is rapidly becomming a totally useless columnist.
Every thing he writes is preachy, arrogant and full of second guessing. Not worth wasting my time reading.
Whodathunk?
I’m honestly surprised by the apparent impact that Spencer Larsen has on the running game. The last 2 wins, with him at FB, the running game has seemed to be getting back on track. He goes down,t eh running game goes south. Similar to the impact Ryan McBean has had on the D line.
Great surprises. Makes Larsen’s likelihood of playing good news. Hopefully, they can sit him at the half when the Broncos are up 28-0.
Now where did that Kool-Aid vendor go?
Hmmmm.
Legwold thinks Eddie’s double-duty as PR and KR may be making him less effective at WR.
Only the guys in the locker room know for sure, but it is a fair question.
Don't argue with fools. It's how they reproduce.
Thanks Doug
Character may be manifested in the great moments but it is made in the small ones -- Philip Brooks
Thanks as always, Doug
There were two things that I thought were memorable – the first was Orton doing the QB sneak, which used to be automatic when Elway ran it. I also enjoyed the way that McD took on the issue of short yardage in his presser. His point was very well taken – whether or not you like a ‘bigger back’ (and all of ours are over 215, so none are exactly tiny), no one picks up short yardage unless the O-line gets a push. The problems in short yardage have consistently been problems with the O-line. Although I recognize why this may be controversial, McD also made it clear that he’s going to get the line up to the task rather than changing the approach. It should be a very interesting free agency and draft.
Moreno/Buckhalter in '09
Caught that too
I was really glad to see that McD is seeing the same things we are on the interior line. I know that sounds goofy, but I seriously thought for awhile during the end of the Shanahan era that he was seeing different games than the rest of us. His conclusions were that far different.
Now where did that Kool-Aid vendor go?
