by binford04 on Dec 20, 2009 5:33 PM MST reply actions

McDaniels is the problem

this team just cannot close out anything. I was actually hoping the Raiders pulled it out because this team needs serious makeover. They need to go 3-13 and start retooling. They are too old, too tired, and cannot finish off in the red zone. How many plays in the 4Q went for positive yards? Not many.

What is this little raider fan boy middle-schooler doing on MHR? OUR site? This little bantering, trying to goad us just becuase they won a game.

You guys, well, I’ll save most of it. I will say that I am very glad we are not you. We are fans of a well-run team that has a ton of hope for the future. You guys like to gloat when you win one game. We have hopes for the playoffs every year, and when we don’t get there, we our disappointed. When you guys miss the playoffs, it’s considered business as usual. We go out and completely rebuild our team, and we almost beat you guys, a team that cannot possibly say they are rebuilding, because if they do, then you have to admit you have been rebuilding since 2003. 6 years and we’ve got a record of 8-6 already in our first.

Anyway, have fun with your win. Enjoy it, sure. It’s fun when you win. But keep in mind we get better next year. Mark my words. What is Al Davis going to do next year?

by NxtYrNvrArrives on Dec 20, 2009 6:21 PM MST up reply actions

Middle school?

You dont understand raider fans nowadays….. WE hate AL, yes we know we will probably not make the playoffs next year, we know were not well run and its not offensive when someone says it. It used to be but now we will even joke about our sucking. es we will enjoy the win and for a long time. My honest opinion of you guys is I see a lot of last years Titans in you guys. You have a average QB come in and take over for the franchise guy and you guys do great. Greay=t D, solid O but if you guys crash next year it will not shock me. go ahead, say we suck, we will laugh with you.

by nateoak10 on Dec 20, 2009 6:37 PM MST up reply actions

Let's not forget the dreadful

play calling in the red zone as well. The running game stunk. O-line could not handle pressure. 12 yard punts. This team needs a complete makeover. I say trade B Marshall for a boat load of picks, Bailey for whatever you can get, and start over.

by PinchHitLancePainter on Dec 20, 2009 5:39 PM MST reply actions

Coming from a very devoted Denver fan - This was a typical...

Typical Broncos slide/ end of season disappointment. As usual they crapped all over the field when it mattered. Firing Shanahan? What did that accomplish? Sure I had hope in this team and I was all psyched about this game, but it’s all gone.

I really enjoyed how good our team has looked this season. But firing Shanahan because of the typical end of season results that we get every year, we are and will end the season that way again this year. NO WAY we will beat Philly. The way it’s going, we’ll probably struggle to even hang with the Chiefs. You really want to be in the playoffs when your team is in its collapsed state as usual?

So we continue our usual streak, and the Chargers continue their disgusting streak as well. Oh, and for all you disgusting Raider fans out there coming on to our boards here at MHR, defiling it like it was your own city, how is that team working out for you this season? Huh? How is that playoff berth? How is that glorious season going for you? What is your record? Oh yeah, don’t remind me. Thanks a lot. Really. We can always count on classless Raider fans.

by NxtYrNvrArrives on Dec 20, 2009 5:40 PM MST reply actions

I hope this team loses it's last two games

We should not, and do not deserve to make the playoff after that debacle. The playcalling was ridiculous (a QB sneak on second and five.?)

Just sit the starters, and give up on the season. You cannot lose to the raiders and go to the playoffs. It’s just not right.

It’s looking my preseason prediction of 8-8 is about to come true. So, I guess you could say that they’ve met my expectations, I was just hoping that they would exceed them after the 6-0 start. I do not want to make the playoffs and lose 55-10 like we will, if we make it.

It takes neither courage nor intelligence to cheer for a team only when that team wins. The true test of a fan's mettle is the same as it is for a player: Were you there when you were needed?

Oh...

Oh quite the contrary Kgrone. We are not cheering for them to lose. We simply love our team too much to want to see them blown out in the post season. They are still rebuilding, and they will be a much better team next year. So here’s to next year!

by NxtYrNvrArrives on Dec 20, 2009 5:45 PM MST reply actions

If they win

If they win, what happens to them in the post season? You think think they have a shot at teams like the Chargers or the Colts? Let the Chargers get taken out like they always do, and get ready for next year. It is so embarassing to get beat bad in the playofss, and Denver is NOT a playoff team. They can be great at times. But they are not consistent enough. YET. They will be. Just look at how well they played when they’ve won this year. Denver will be great very soon.

Why does Madden suck at ranking the Broncos so much?

by ChristianL on Dec 20, 2009 5:59 PM MST up reply actions

Listen yourself. The Raiders? Denver will beat them both times next year. That’s my prediction. This is their very first year together under a new regime, new players, new everything. It was fun to watch this year, but nobody expected they would even get this far.

I love my team, and I’d love to see them win the next two, and go into the post season. But I don’t expect it. And if they don’t I might be kind of happy about it. Not to say I wish it on them. I just don’t want to see them die in the playoffs, especially to some team like the chargers. Sure it was a divisional game. So what. Denver could outplay the Raiders if they had all the pieces together. But that (having all the pieces) is not going to happen this season.

Let me ask this. Is a playoff berth all we want? I mean, really. Or do we want to go for the big game? Isn’t that the whole point to going to the playoffs? If all that matters is going to the post season, than yeah, that’s great. But I don’t think they are near Super Bowl contenders. PEOPLE, JUST WAIT UNTIL NEXT SEASON. I hate to say that, I hear it every year. But this time it’s different. I see a very fresh and new direction that I like from this team, and I really think it wont take much more time to perfect it and become a consistently good team that can beat anyone whenever they need to.

But for now, lets pull for the Titans on Thursday. Get our minds off of this loss. It’s done. Game over. The more we think about it, the more it hurts. Avoid all contact with Raider fans. Get some dinner. Enjoy life. And be ready for some serious fun next year.

by NxtYrNvrArrives on Dec 20, 2009 6:07 PM MST up reply actions

That could be,

but maybe they’ll stick around because they like what they see. I don’t know these things, who can, but i know I at least like what I see.

by NxtYrNvrArrives on Dec 20, 2009 6:26 PM MST up reply actions

What happened to zone blocking?

I thought McDaniels kept Dennison and Turner on to run the zone blocking scheme. With undersized linemen especially in the middle I don’t understand why they are trying to overpower teams. This is not going to happen no matter how bad coach wants it to be the Patriot way because the personnel is simply just not there. It’s very difficult for Orton to throw due to his obvious physical limitations without a running game.

by december2remember on Dec 20, 2009 5:56 PM MST reply actions

Orton's problems are when he's given no time......

You can’t just decide to throw deep balls, it takes time for the play to develop…….He’s getting no time in the pocket and unfortunately the pressure comes right up the middle in his face.

by Kgrone on Dec 20, 2009 5:58 PM MST up reply actions

He is not getting time because of a lack of a running game

The problems running the ball are not just in short yardage situations. They are a problem on first down as well. Moreno averaged under 2.5 yards a carry. That is not good enough to help KO get time and it puts our team in poor position on second and third down. Very frustrating

by december2remember on Dec 20, 2009 6:04 PM MST up reply actions

We have no running game

because our interior oline gets dominated and our backs are dodging defenders before they even get back to the line. I’m frustrated as well, but I put our offensive issues squarely on our Oline.

Best I can figure is that they’re undersized for the scheme McD wants to run. Hopefully something that will get taken care of this offseason and not a long term issue

by Kgrone on Dec 20, 2009 6:07 PM MST up reply actions
