McDaniels must go post deleted??
... NOT that I believe McDaniels must go (as my brother insists after a brutal loss tonight) but this post had 16 replies as of 30 minutes ago and now it is mysteriously GONE.
What gives? Censorship?
The only thing I said was that McDaniels called the single worst offensive play called in the history of the NFL... a QB sneak on 2nd and 4.
Anyone know what's going on at MHR? How could this go AWOL?

... it was definitely deleted
…. my browser history is showing SB Nation dead ends
Unless...
I did add a restriction tonight that requires 24 hours before new members can comment. It might have deleted the post retro-active. If that was it, it was unintentional..

... no problem
2nd and 4, QB sneak up the middle
My question: is this the 1st time in the history of organized football this play was called?
Thank you for doing that Guru.

Thanks for the 24 hour rule

There was a lot more than one mistake in this game...We can't be picky.
Digest the whole game and then come back with a what if or a how we might fix the broken wheel before it falls completely off. OK.
McD shouldn't go after this one season
I say give him a chance to get his players in here via the draft and get them acclimated to his system. If we don’t show improvement after next year then we can talk. No reason to give the guy the axe after completely rehauling an entire roster and installing a completely new offense and defense. Seriously his early game winning streak made our expectations go sky high. Would we be any better with our Bob Slowik Defense had Shanny stayed? I think not.
Seriously...
Any draft takes 3-5 years to judge. I don’t want to become a coaching carousel like Oakland is. I say he’s safe for at least 2 more years unless there are some major blunders. Amazing how everyone’s calling for his head and we weren’t supposed to win 6 games this year
The guy did call plays for the greatest offense in NFL history (statistically anyway).....
I don’t agree with all the play calls made, but he’s still working mostly with another coaches players, who are in their first year learning a 2-3 year offense. The qb sneak was an attempt to catch them offguard and/or offsides (I was watching on a poor feed, but I do think they said it was a quick snap). It didn’t work out….ok….we still should be able to punch it in.
McD made some mistakes, they all do, but there’s still not a coach out there I’d trade him for at this point
He may have called the plays...but
it was still Belichick’s team and he had final say so. He also had Tom Brady, Randy Moss, Wes Welker, and a running game to set up everything else. There is no point in getting rid of McD now.
It will all depend on what the last 2 games show. If we look as ineffective as we did yesterday, and if Bowlen really brought in McD to win NOW….well we may see things change.
Dear Rockies-Thank you for a wonderful rollercoaster season! Best turnaround in MLB history to become NL Wild Card Champs.
Garrett Atkins-So Long, Farewell, Auf weidersehen, Goodbye!! You were a great Rockie! GOOD LUCK!
Troy Tulowitzki-MLB's BEST shortstop..nuff said
Yorvit Torrealba- Re-sign!! he's en Fuego!!
Brad Hawpe- I hope I get to see you in a Rockies uniform again!
Dexter Fowler - prowling CF, WC in his talons, leaping Utleys in a single bound!
Nothing is changing this year....
Except some more roster moves by McD…..Bowlen’s smarter than to think you bring in a new coach and only give him one year..
You want McDaniels gone?
Who would you replace him with? Look at the other new head coaches this year – Spagnuolo in St. Louis (1-13), Morris in Tampa (2-12); Singletary in SF (6-8) (and he had the advantage of having been there as a coordinator the last couple years); Jim Schwartz in Detroit (2-12); Jim Mora in Seattle (5-9); Todd Haley in KC (3-11); and Cable in Oakland (5-9).
We will now discuss in a little more detail the Struggle for Existence.

The problem with that comparison
is that the Seahawks, Rams, Lions, Chiefs and Raiders were five of the worst teams in football last year (13 wins combined). This year they’ve already improved their collective record with 16 combined wins so far. San Francisco (7-9), Tampa Bay (9-7) and Denver (8-8) are the only teams with new coaches who had decent records last year. San Francisco is doing their best impression of last year’s team (performance-wise), I don’t know what is going on in Tampa Bay, but here in Denver I think we expect our team to improve from last year when we hire a quality knew coach who makes quality roster moves, and I don’t think this is unrealistic to expect that.
Right now we could finish the season with a couple wins and all is well, we’ve definitely improved. As I see it, the way we’ve played crap teams like Washington and now Oakland, and the way we’ve performed against good teams like Pittsburgh, Baltimore and (shudder) San Diego (all winnable games), I really don’t have a whole lot of faith that we are going to go into Philly and beat them and then come home and actually play a good game at home vs. a division rival.
If our run D is anything like it was today, those two teams will run us right to an 8-8 record. I’m really just reeling after this loss. It’s like the Washington game: we just got handled by an inferior team. At least with the Washington game we could say “it’s tough to win a game when your starting QB goes down.” The sad state of affairs is that Oakland’s starting QB did go down. And then they went to Jamarcus Russell. At that point, game should be ours. How bad is it that Charlie Frye, who has now played three games in the past three NFL seasons, STARTED over the guy who beat us?
Having said all that, I’m far from calling for McDaniels’ job. I just want to paint a picture of our expectations (e.g. beat the bottom feeding Raiders at home), expectations that should be entirely realistic, and how these are not being met. I honestly don’t know whose “fault” this loss is, I doubt it is one person, but it is a loss that leaves me, as a fan, completely and utterly crushed.

I think there's just some general frustration
with what appears to be a lack of contrition on the the part of McD regarding some of the choices he’s made regarding personnel, play-calling, offensive scheme, etc. Yes, he doesn’t have patriots personnel – so adapt accordingly and quit trying to cram a square peg into a round hole. While no one’s perfect, there’s a fine line between leadership and humility and our coach is still learning – at least we hope so.
Go Broncs!
It's "just" football
agree
Though I think it’s probably much more the latter than the former. He’s probably trying to mix the system he’s used to with the players he has and meet in the middle somewhere in a way that assumes that everyone does the job their capable of. Some of it could be scheme, and some of it could be coaching guys to reach their full potential.
Either way, if we can manage one more win, we’ll be right where my most optimistic prediction had us. Good year to build on.
