1. Orton panics in the pocket. He does not sense pressure often and sometiems he also overreacts to pressure. Move up in the pocket! Move out of the pocket! That leads to the next point....
2. I have never seen a QB as unathletic as Orton. The guy is super slow.
3. Orton, as a whole, makes our offense much more one dimensional than multi-dimensional. We have so many weapons on offense that are not being used properly, i.e. Royal, Scheffler, Moreno. Orton limits our offense and he doesn't open it.
4. We have no credible deep-ball threat. This shortens the field and allows teams to stack against us.
Now I suggested to my friend that we go for a QB in the second round, Colt McCoy, Tony Pike or my personal favorite, Sean Canfield, who would be around in the third. My friend said most of the top QB's are first round picks. He kind of convinced me that we should consider a first round QB. What are your thoughts?

The interior OL is what has killed us.
I would either to trade down for more depth or to take a C/G in the first round.
+1
Maybe Seattle would be interested in a trade to move them into the top 10.
Oh, that’s right… they’re already there!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Ha. =D
"All we're trying to do is win the *********** game!" -- Josh MF McDaniels tearing into his offensive line after three false starts in the red zone. The tirade turned the tide of the game, and the Broncos dominated from that point on.

Top 10 ?
Our pick to Seattle is at 22, the 7th pick is theirs.
The only difference between genius and insanity is perception
no no
Sorry, could have been clearer I know. What I meant was, since Seattle’s at 22 with our pick (poke) and we’re at 8 at Chicago’s pick (poke), maybe they’d be interesting in trading down… except HEY LOOK they’re already at 7 (poke!).
Just poking the Seachx a little since they declared us public enemy number one during the offseason. ; )

C/G
Do not go as high as 10 +— or- 5. Trade down and get both in 1st 2 rounds.

Walters
Had the highest rated G going at 47 and the highest rated C going at 87. Although, it is possible to take a tackle the can play gaurd earlier.

The writing may be on the wall in the offseason.
If they don’t resign Orton then we will all know that McDaniels will think he did his best to coach him into being a better than average QB that could lead this offense and couldn’t. I think Kyle will stay and I believe they will draft a QB late 5-7th round and groom Brandstater to be the back up and the future. This crazy idea of drafting QB’s and throwing them right into the frying pan is plain nuts. They need time to carry the clipboard and adjust to the speed of the NFL. Take a look at Sanchez, Stafford and Freeman all thrown into the fray and have been beat up on a constant level. NO FIRST ROUND QB’S
Orton..
I too think Orton is terrible. I’ll get killed on this site for saying it but unless the game plan is working to perfection he just doesnt have the skills to get it done like the great QB’s can. I cannot believe he took that sack on the 2nd last drive in the 4th quarter. On top of it, the announcers praised him for playing it smart and not throwing an INT.
However, I can see Orton getting a 1 year deal to prove he can lead this offense.
So...Here are a couple of solutions
1. Keep the 8th pick and draft Clemson RB C.J. Spiller?
Spiller would be a great tandem back with Knowshon Moreno, and though taking a RB in the first two years in a row is not conventional or normal, I could definitely see that pair for the next few years.
2. Trade down with someone who might want C.J. Spiller, or whoever.
I don’t know who would be willing to trade up with us at this point. The most likely team to be able to trade up is New England, who has three second round picks. If not them, I guess I think it might be hard to find a suitor for that pick. I guess it all depends on who is available at that pick.
3. Trade one of our big name free agents and get an extra first and third.
I hate this idea, so no, let’s not do it!
first round QBs are more often than not
a complete crapshoot
i would rather get reliable depth/value in the first round than another potential bust at the QB position
